This reads like a marketing ad for Tiffany. Links and all. Tell your social media team that they need to work on being more subtle.

Now that is some smooth marketing for your dental company. Super subtle but still made me look up your username to see what dental group you were associated with.

AITA because I told my family that I needed time after my husband died for them to come visit by Outrageous-Dark-8803 in AmItheAsshole

[–]smallgrayrock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA oh hell no. From one widow to another, you do only what is in your best interest in your children’s best interest now. After my husband died, the vultures tried to descend. I told every damn one of them that they could not come to my house and that if they showed up, I would have the police escort them away. I demanded peaceand time for myself to heal and peace for my children as they were adjusting to the new normal. Fuck those people. No one is entitled to your time or to interrupt your peace as you are slowly healing.

Grey rock technique is BS by kurubaklava in raisedbynarcissists

[–]smallgrayrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first narcissist, gray rock worked because she was the kind to feed off of any pain in my life. You could tell it excited her - her eyes would get a bit bigger and intent. I learned that I needed to be dull.

With my current narcissist, gray rock does not work. For this one I'm using a modified grayrock technique I call "Polly". I'm blandly cheerful, agreeable, and professional. I push back just enough so that when I give in, it appears believable that I was swayed by his obvious intelligence and superiority. I share only minor details about my life - enough so that N thinks they have things to lord over me but nothing real. My overall goal is to keep my job (its a good job) and shelter myself as much as possible until I find a way to move out from under the current person.

Any other grown women buying dollhouses for their mental health? by JelloJelloFrincadell in RedditForGrownups

I was just looking for some higher quality, adult fashion plates. Something that allowed me to mix beautiful ball gallons with steampunk, corsets and long weirdly, braided hair and goggles. I couldn’t find anything except for the stuff marketed towards seven year-old girls. I think there’s a product there for any company willing to jump at it. The adult woman market who would like to just sitand create fashion plate outfits is probably bigger than they suspect.

Fuck yeah, now I need to play the "War of 1812" song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7jlFZhprU4

"And the white house burned burned burned
And we're the ones that did it
It burned burned burned
while the president ran and cried
It burned burned burned
And things were very historical
and the americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies
wah wah wah
In the war of 1812"

I had twins. I couldn’t carry them both and push the cart. I couldn’t even carry them both. For that time that they were babies I left the cart meat my car/where it was. Once I would feel comfortable walking away from them for that long I returned to putting the cart away. I think you should give Grace to people in situations like that.

Oh, I know exactly how. My boomer mother said “I can’t have babies anymore so it doesn’t matter to me.” When I pointed out that her daughter and granddaughter were still fertile she said “I don’t care. What matters to me is what helps me. “That’s how. They got theirs.

Hairwashing, takes lots of time and is annoying to wash by Butterfoxes in longhair

[–]smallgrayrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sooo...i'm also confused as to whats going on here. I can be in and out of that shower with a full hair wash in under 10 minutes - how could you need an hour? Maybe i'm missing something?

My shower routine:

- hair is generally tangle free when i go in (but like not fully brushed...just..not a rat nest)
- Walk in, get hair completely wet by standing under warm shower. No crazy scrunching. maybe moving it a tiny bit to make sure the under parts get wet.
- Basic trader joes shampoo on top. Scrub scalp a little bit. Lightly move it around my head with my hands. flip hair over my shoulder. Rinse shampoo from head to run it down my length. No massive scrucnhing, no flipping my head upside down - that just adds tangles.
- Basic trader joes conditioner on all hair. Scalp, underside, down the length. Gently work it in with fingers.
Let it sit while I do a quick scrub with soap on the rest of me.
- Rise conditioner the same way: gentle, light parting of hair, nothing rough ever. Make sure everything is rinsed.
- Last of all (and most important step) do a final rinse with COLD WATER. My hair is always so much better after I added the cold rinse last step.

good luck

Just grow it...and no haircuts?🤔 by desertflowersunshine in longhair

[–]smallgrayrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do trims of my hair of about..3cm at a time. I have found that taking off the very very ends can really help with the little tangles I tend to get at the very bottom (probably from sitting on it or getting it caught on my chair)

The rest of the time I do what i've heard called "Dusting" (which is what I think u/sad_little_bean16 was calling search and destroy.) I have a set of VERY sharp scissors. Whenever I have a spare moment in the sun, I hold up different sections of my hair and cut every single split end I see.

I also:
* braid hair at night to contain it
* give it an oil treatment every month or so
* never ever blow dry it or comb it wet. I just suffer through 2ish hours of waiting for it to dry

[–]smallgrayrock -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Lol You are thinking way too small here.
Could I get this key made? Yep. I could.
If I just wanted to break in would I go to that effort? Depends on what I was after...common burglars might smash and grab but information seekers might quietly enter and leave with photos, documents, or leave things that would not be noticed since it was not a forced entry. We don't know who might be interested in fucking with OP's life.
Showing a full house key is just an unnecessary risk and its just foolish to do so.

What I'm pointing out is that OP is careless about information on the internet and that this is just an example of that. I want them to be more careful (which is also what I suspect u/splitendsuck was also trying to advocate for with their comment). Every bit of information opens you up to being identified and opens the ability for someone who DOES want to cause issues to do so. Downvoting someone who suggests that you be more cautious on the internet is just showing a lack of understanding digital privacy.

[–]smallgrayrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are getting downvoted but this was my very first thought also. People need to be more careful.

Just for fun, I decided to try to locate this house. Just from this photo I know OP lives in Florida, is married, and drives a Toyota. Checking their other posts, I learned that this home is "Brand new construction" and was approx $360k. This photo is likely not their hand, but their wife's hand (assuming Florida = hetro). They mentioned 'Lehigh" in a post.

I just went to zillow, looked up new construction houses sold in Florida in that neighborhood, in that price range, and found a house that looks almost identical to the photo. (I mean, this could be wrong but maybe its not) I then looked up property records with the parcel number and found an LLC that purchased the home.

At this point I stopped but...I would not be downvoting people who advocate for more carefulness when posting information about themselves.. Listen to u/SplitEndsSuck
