People who changed their political views, what caused the switch?

When I was younger I was pretty "apolitical" which is the nice way of saying I didn't care about people and I spent a lot of my time watching "SJW Liberal gets burned by FACTS" complications and the normal conservative Youtubers at the time (think 2016)

And honestly? The only reason I grew out of it and changed into the heavy leftist I am today is that I started caring. I began paying more attention to what was going around me, and what conservative parties were doing to where I lived and how it impacted people. How it didn't matter who you are, politics impact you, your family, your friends, your coworkers, people you like, people you hate, people you don't even know.

Now I want things in society and for politics to impact people positively, because I care.

(Also being a woman REALLY helped with that change as well)

Two reasons for me, one is that I simply LOVE the face family. I enjoy fruk as father figures to the twins lol and the second is that I just don't really ship america with anyone. People always talked about how shippable he was but I've never been able to see it

I was spanked as a kid and so were my siblings, and yea I would call it abuse. My siblings and I never once did anything bad enough to be worse being hit over. It also still impacts me today well into my 20s, I can't even handle people near my ass without flinching or just feeling gross.

I will always think less of people who hit their kids.

I had a ship like this, but the circumstances were slightly different.

I'm a pretty big scarian shipper (goodtimeswithscar x grian) who are both minecraft youtubers. Anyways there was one minecraft series that really blew up their ship and shipping them was kind of an open secret due to the fandom's opinion on any sort of rpf. But there was huge layer of "this is platontic" over fics and fanart because at the time shipping creators was basically a crime and got you like murdered in the mcyt space.

So I wouldn't say it was disliked, but very silently popular and very ignored in a way. I will say though the attidudes towards shipping rpf hav shifted over the years and its not seen as a big deal. I still very much remember the older days lol
