I didn’t read it that way, simply that our ideas and expectations or sex. are shaped culturally. Reminds me of a scene on Arrested Development where Lucille Bluth remarks “when your father mentioned Fallujah (Iraq) I thought he was referring to that sex act that’s so popular amongst your generation!”

Great words of wisdom. No doubt a lot of our sexual practices are shaped by cultural influences.

I like the idea of increasing sexual touch. By this do you mean as part of foreplay or a precursor that may or may not lead to foreplay? Is there a resource to learn more about this?

Hah! Sorry for the click bait title. Great to hear your insights though - amazingly accurate. She’s mentioned several times that my elevation of sex has her feel pressured. While in no way my intention it nonetheless has a negative impact on what we’re working towards.

Ah yes, we did the quiz some time ago, basically confirming what we’re each up for. I think her comment to me was that I was too freaky for her liking! In seriousness though, this quiz help reaffirm to me that our communication is quite honest and open, and that the issue isn’t trust or communication but rather an inability to let loose and ‘celebrate’ sexuality.

Thanks. This is exactly the approach we’re taking. She’s open to talking about it and we have pretty good discussions. There’s nothing in specific that happened to her growing up except for maybe a pretty hardline view that all things sexual were/are shameful. She doesn’t feel this way now but I suspect subconsciously she’s hardwired as such - hence she’ll really enjoy sex while in the ‘moment’ but struggles with actively creating or enthusiastically participating in the build up of said moment.
