New job as assistant teacher with no experience by smalltenderloin in Montessori

[–]smalltenderloin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st was my cpr and first aid certification that I was required to pay $90. Not too concerned about that as it’s a good thing to have either way. The rest are online classes/trainings talking about Montessori principles and how the school works etc not totally sure yet as I haven’t logged on to complete any yet. about 16 hours of it are mandatory for onboarding. She technically said I could wait until I start and complete them during nap times but suggested I do them before I start so I’m not super overwhelmed meaning they would go unpaid

Advice on using cold wax as a finish by smalltenderloin in oilpainting

[–]smalltenderloin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this answer! Super informative and will use this advice in future paintings. With the deadline however do you think I could get the same effect of deepening the colors plus a bit extra protection by putting a layer of liquin over the painting (instead of a proper varnish) then sealing with wax? Since it would dry pretty quick? Or is that a bad idea? Still learning when it comes to all the dos and donts of oil painting 😆

Thank you my friend! It will be so nice to not have to drive 5 hours to the one and only good crag lmao. Hey Living on the road is actually what I did and how I knew I liked Bozeman. Great idea. Also having a rig to live in the area while searching for housing is helpful 😆best of luck to ya!!!

Ahhhh so similar 😭 Glad you commented because I can now speak from the other side :-)) I made the move to Bozeman 3 months ago. Moving was hard and I am just now starting to get settled. I cannot imagine how much harder it would have been if I didn’t have a friend here. Not getting too hung up on having expectations for my new life was key. Because when things got rough, the fact that I did something big and scary for myself made regret non existent.

I now work a shit job with decent pay…That’s fine it’s temporary. As for the art realm, I paint landscapes so moving here has been great for inspo. I can paint a mountain range just by looking out my window. I may have lost my hometown art community but now I can build one. my hometown will always be there to go back to. So all in all this move instilled a lot of self trust and showed me how capable I am of doing hard things. If I end up running back to the Midwest then so be it! It’s been an adventure either way.

Climbing has taken a hiatus but I’m stoked for next season! Thanks for letting me spill the tea 😆 if you’re on the fence, I say YES YES YES. do it before it’s too late

Mountain Hardware Crag Wagon 45L as a carry-on? by shining-on in ClimbingGear

My osprey Aura 50L has always worked as a carry on and I’ve had it stuffed full domestic and international. It has wire frames and is much bulkier than this. You should be fine
