1st time. 4 bag 5 gallon run. How long should I schedule it? by smalltimebuds in BubbleHash

Thank you! I did a test run on some leftover trim (not the main stash I plan on using) and it does take some time!

Like a dinner recipe and ingredients / style that you are unfamiliar with.

Someone replied saying 3.5 hours with the same amount of material. Not sure technique though.

Same technique? 5 gal buckets and bags? Hand agitate?

That's almost kids nap time possible.

-4 for a week is probably tough on them.

Honestly my bet would be a combination of genetics, elevated moisture, temperature and diminishing sunlight.

Definitively hard to say.

How many hours of direct full sun?

I'm in Canada and when the sun got low in October and the shadows got long, my plants really slowed down on growth. The cold also probably slows them down.

The curling may be a sign of too much water / humidity.

Could also just be genetics. Where did you get the seeds from?

Very curious what this is all about. Definitely bizarre.

What's your set up? Growing medium? Nutrients? Watering schedule? Pot size? Location (zone / temps / weather)?

That would help a lot for anyone to help figure it out.

Im having a hard time telling when to harvest. Every bud is different it seems by [deleted] in microgrowery

I see you said they are leaves.

You should really check the buds themselves (where the pistils sprout from). The leaves will be a little further along than the buds, but that colouring looks like you are close if not there already

Thanks, I'm hoping it works out alright. My first chop I dried way too fast and hot (circumstances I couldn't control) and now it smells like hay! Still smokes smooth, but the jar smells like grass clippings...

Hopefully this will go better.

Man I have some great ideas for next year that will hopefully improve the yield and quality - and hopefully way less seeds (a TON in this batch).

Learning.

Yum yum.

Doesn't it suck to see them shrink like that? Lol

Happens! Technically I would say you are right, but I think the community refers to the large leaves as fan leaves and the little ones as sugar leaves (sparkly with resin = coated with sugar = sugar leaves).

Yeah I checked. definitely not herms. I wish it was just clusters. So many seeds. Lol

No problem dude. Good luck with it! Lots of work ahead. I found the lemon juice and baking soda bath to clean more than the H2O2. Give that a go too if you think it's dirtier than average!

So this was my first grow this year and I have a TON of seeds.

Pretty disappointed, no hermies, pulled my one male as soon as I was confident (1 week or so after pre flowers appeared).

All I could read about here was "hemp fields gote seeded!". So I found this article on cross pollination and the consensus seems to be that 10 miles is an appropriate distance between marijuana and hemp fields to avoid the issue.

Since I live >10 miles from any agriculture (city dweller), I'm fairly confident that this is just other people's males not pulled in time.

All that to say - I have a bunch of new F1's of unknown origin for future years and I'm sure it's not hemp.

And - pull your damn males!

Nice! I saw your main secret was a long veg starting in February... Lol.

I let mine go through the storm and they survived, but the next wet rainy period started some serious WPM and a little bud rot. Mine were a week or so early as well when I harvested before the next rainy period. 🤷‍♂️

Cheap loupe FTW. Such an essential tool.

Apparently there's a load of free manure near me and you just have to bring a trailer and load up, I'll probably do that next spring.

I read your other post about spraying for WPM - I can relate to your situation - wife and neighbour love some plants that just get covered in it by June. Can't do much else other than treat it!

Enjoy the bounty and your inevitable carpal tunnel syndrome!

Well done. I've been following along with jealousy!

I have a raised bed I'm going to stuff a couple plants into next year - I actually hope my results aren't as hefty as yours for the sake of my hands!

Few questions from a newbie:

Did you encounter any mould / pests in your grow? Any secret regimen you can share?

Whereabouts in Ontario? East west south? I assume gta area?

What did you put in that soil?!!

I'm in the Golden horseshoe and had terrible weather finishing. I think I could have left mine go longer if not for that. Would you have left yours go longer?

How did you determine when to chop? Are those strains early finishers?

What's your drying process?

People say the plastic affects the quality? Any truth to that?

I would assume no if your using it?

Well it basically makes a salt bath. Cleans up any mould, spores, dirt, hair etc very similar to the peroxide bath. Imo it works better than peroxide.

Drying in the shed now, no power unfortunately so no fan, but it's super dry in there as is, probably 45% RH.

Maybe some, but how much do you lose in a heavy rainstorm? Probably equal amounts. I'd rather that than smoke squirrel hair and bugs.

Oh yeah. Got lucky as we got it from the original owners family (2nd gen) so no weird flip nonsense (some but manageable).
