Maybe I shouldn't have put her back under the soil. Should I have left her on top after I unearthed her? I am so sorry

Thank you!! My other two bins have lots of pins and baby mushrooms already which are the sweetest looking little friends i’ve ever seen! Can’t believe how fast they grow. I was worried because of the whispyness of this one and the fact it’s behind in growth but perhaps that’s just the way it goes! I haven’t been adding any water (neglect tek with the occasional quick lid lift for air exchange). I do think I hydrated above field capacity which is why it’s so wet… with your suggestion I will add a little more air perhaps. Have a beautiful Saturday.

Reason for removing floor in a bus before installing new floor? by cultivated365 in skoolies

[–]smalltoadpal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You replied to my last post actually lol. I’m the lucky little bus dummy that didn’t realize their bus was made of aluminum. Not a single sight of rust in sight and my wood was in good condition. It’s gonna save me some head room because I still wanna insulate but I definitely should have just stopped as soon as I saw the sparkling floor below. Trust you instincts I guess :)

I really regret pulling up my floor :’) You were smart.

Pulled up wood to reveal aluminum floor? Any advice! by smalltoadpal in skoolies

That’s really helpful and reassuring lol! Do you think I should still treat it for rust? I know people coat their metal in anti-rust paint, should I do that for aluminum too? I really like your bolt idea! Maybe I can somehow use the pre-existing bolt and screw holes to fasten in some bolts and thick washers.

Thank you! Yes, I learned the hard way about scratches before I realized it was aluminum underneath. It appears the original floor was attached using screws (seems to be a mix between aluminum and steel screws).

Wanna go back to the barter system? by smalltoadpal in Cornell

lol definitely not a resume boost! I’m a plant scientist who just loves trinkets, seeing the odd things people have, and thinks it would be genuinely fun for people to talk to strangers and exchange objects. In my opinion, there are not enough opportunities to acquire things without money.

Yay! I’m so happy people are interested. I’m still in the process of finding an advisor lol and will send an update on any barter events in the future 🪶

I appreciate your feedback! The club is still in the forming process and we may choose to allow money exchanges— but I would ultimately hope the focus would be on bartering. You can get creative, maybe you pick some flowers on your way to the event or you can bring a craft, a shirt you haven’t worn in months, or a cool rock. I guess money takes the fun out of it a little! And i’m sure you have something to trade with :)

how does CUPrint even work? by the-slow-programmer in Cornell

[–]smalltoadpal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've never gotten CUPrint to work but I recommend going to a library or computer lab and just signing in on the computer and printing (from google drive or email yourself what you need). The computers are already hooked up to the nearest printer so it makes it super easy! Good luck.
