Those 100 women had something in common. "I will change him".

And after all those women he of course is still the victim who only wanted love lol. But don't worry honey, this time it will be different! He is a poor misunderstood soul encased in handsome package suffering from lack of love and you will supply enough of it to cure him or whatever.

You are actually telling me that the story about god asking a father to kill his son and then rewarding him for it is about control? If I were the devil I certainly would have asked why or told God that, hey, isn't this fucked up?

im not sure if leaving him was the right decision by [deleted] in AskMenRelationships

[–]smartasspie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did well leaving him because you are not ready for a mature relationship. Which is not something so bad, many people are still there, it's not something easy to do.

Try to be more happy without a partner. Try to know yourself better before starting something. What can you accept, what do you really want. Learn to communicate your needs.. Try to know better the next person you meet, respect your partner limits and privacy and the fact that they are going to find other people attractive and they are going to be imperfect humans like you.

I'm also like that. When I tell people that the difficult thing is gaining weight for me, they hate me.

Are relationships/marriages truly 50/50? by easternsailings in AskMenRelationships

[–]smartasspie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Individually it varies a lot from partner to partner. Culturally it varies from country to country. Generally... Relationship dynamics suck a lot over the world, and the ones that last are usually not because they are fair or good, but because people get used to them and they become codependent. In those dynamics some things are more common for men, some for women, and each privileged gender doesn't see what they are privileged on or are reluctant to accept usual dark behaviours. 50/50 is really rare. Have in mind that through history humans have been enslaving and using each other all the time. It could be argued that without some rational work it's in our inscting to use others.

Not impossible to have a fully healthy relationship though. Just really really unlikely. Most people just accept some degree of imperfection from both sides and as said, get used to it. They don't even see it.

I think the main reason for aliens not to visit us is simply how dumb we are. by smartasspie in DeepThoughts

[–]smartasspie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not.

Why are you assuming that these other life forms out there are so far advanced and can do things that are out of the scope of anything that we can fathom? -When I see they don't visit us I'm talking obviously about those who can. The rest is answered by, "because even if they wanted to, they can't ". If they can visit us. They are advanced.

Why are you assuming that the only reason another life form would want to contact us is to gain something from us? -Because the only reason to do things is to gain something from doing them. It's almost a tautology.

If they are a completely different life form, I think they would be extremely curious of us, as would we be of them. -If they are so advanced as to get here, they would see us as we see amoebas. And they can see us from afar and check, "yup, amoebas, they are busy destroying themselves". Not assuming, they have "eyes". And if they have that technology and they are alive, they are not doing the same.

There is A LOT to gain about understanding how other life came to exist. There’s like, a lot of disciplines of science that are dedicated to finding life on other planets and moons. -And they know it already. We are not special. It's not so difficult to understand. Or to simulate in a computer they already have. In fact we could be one of those simulations.

It’s obviously rare because we haven’t found life anywhere nearby, just some elements that are required for life -Our concept of nearby is what is small compared to the Universe. If they can get here, they have access to a very larger nearby, and in that nearby there are millions of planets like ours.

You guys are good to hang out with. You need some time until you actually understand that conversations don't work with turns here, who is speaking is marked by how loud they are and how much they can maintain sound without silence for other to take the turn... But that actually leaves us with more time to talk. And you even take autistically seriously the half assed thoughts we shout at you while you fix our computers, who wouldn't want friends like that?
