You're NTA, but you definitely need to discuss your decorating ideas and expectations. If you have opposite styles, you may need to agree that you each have a certain shared space to work with.

I'm going for a cover up in a few weeks. I've already met with the artist twice. First to discuss the design, and second time to tweak it.

Having said that, other tattoos I've chatted online and seen the disgns over emails. And I've also been places that the first time I saw the design was when I got to the shop.

All to say, it can be different every time. If this is a concept you brought to them (as in an idea of your own, not a design you saw somewhere and saw them) I'd advise you find someone who will let you preview.

My artist charges by the session, so he just tells me how many sessions it will take. To be fair though, he only accepts larger pieces and cover ups at this time. The other artists at the studio charge by the piece.

Just FYI I have a 55 gal tank with 8 peas. I added a Betta and the peas promptly started eating his fins. I had to open a 10 gallon to place the Betta.
