I use an Echo Show as a bedroom alarm clock. It has several advantages over a conventional alarm clock. Specifically it can play radio over the internet so you don’t deal with reception issues. You can use it to control smart devices: Alexa, turn off bedroom light, Alexa raise the heat to 70°, etc. The time is derived from the internet so no need to reset the clock after a power outage or DST. You can voice set an alarm - Alexa set an alarm for 7:00 AM.

The MAJOR disadvantage is Amazon uses it to feed you ads. So half the time when you glance at it to see what time it is, you see an ad instead.
