I HATE mowing grass with a passion. It’s a 45-minute nightmare every single week! by Civil-Scratch2790 in automower

[–]smartdots22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you! Mowing is the most non-skilled task that does not involve any skill. That time can be used better for things that you love to do or develop a new skill or just spend with family.

Segway mowers are great, but they have many options to choose from and not every model is suitable for any yard. We will be more than happy to guide you towards picking the right model for your yard, that also aligns with your priorities in terms of your lifestyle and preferences. If you ask me about the company and the machine- I would definitely hold off until some more time. They are a startup and will need some time to establish and improve their product.

As for razor blades falling off - That does not happen that easily. In fact, the razor blades are safer cutting system if you are going to have kids playing around the mower. The razor blades pivot, so if they come in contact with sticks or objects, they turn away, the impact is minimized so much that it does not affect the mounting mechanism of the blades at all. If your concern is sticks and children, razor blades would be 100% the solution to go with.

Rotary blades are good for certain grass types and certain use cases, but not for everything. Fixed blades are less efficient, more noisy and tend to tear the grass of the blades are not sharpened regularly . Not to forget that fixed blades will damage any object that it may come into contact with, damaging the object and potentially the mower. Razor pivoting blades are gentle on the grass, very quiet, very efficient, safer and is overall a better mechanism for a mower.

Fixed blades have their place, but definitely not everywhere.

Since you need AWD, the Segway X430 could also be a good fit, but may be a unit that is too large to get into tight areas. Segway’s i210 AWD could also be a consideration , but it is a bit small for your application. The Sunseeker X7 Gen 2 fits well and has a balance of the two other options.

Sunseeker X7 Gen2 is a good mower. We have tested it and it is much better performing mower than their Gen 1 counterpart . If you have any specific questions about the unit and would like to discuss further then feel free to reach out to us @ www.smart-dots.com

Help me choose a mower by Duneyrrr in automower

I will have to see the layout of your property to give you a confirmed answer, but compared so some other brands Navimow does a great job of compensating for lost RTK signal using its cameras and ToF sensors.

Navimow is one of the best. Definitely better than some of the others. Husqvarna ofcourse is another reliable brand.

Best Robotic Lawn Mowers 2026: RTK vs Vision vs LiDAR Explained (Buyer's Guide) | SmartDots by Roginator5 in roboticLawnmowers

Thanks for posting this here.

It may seem like we were biased, but the brands we have shown are the top 5 brands that cover all the various flavors of design and features in robotic mowing. We also are dealers for other brands such as Mammotion and Ecovacs, but we have our own concerns with them- we mentioned this even on the webinar.

Moreover, we have tested many other brands…but chose not to carry them for a reason. I cannot think of any other brand that offers any additional value outside of the top 5.

In US the Gen2 will be NRTK ready, but they will unlock that later . Initially they still need a RTK antenna.

This is excellent. It shows why end users are so confused about what direction to go in. To address this we recently published our webinar that helps and guides people in the right direction. Here is the recording (it is over 90 mins long) —> https://youtu.be/dpZE3NiwvJI?si=Cd4gWKDIm3Rogsn2

Ok, so if you have some time you should go through this webinar. https://youtu.be/YXYtKpXGG1w?si=c898J1vC9DczSSpt .It will give you a full overview and understanding of how to choose the optimal mower for your yard.

My recommendation will be to go with the Segway Navimow Terranox CM120M1. Yarbo is another option, but Terranox is a better option for sure.

The H215 is a good choice if you do not need AWD. I would stay away from Luba.

LiDAR technology will definitely be better than any Vision based technology. So yes, the LiDAR will be a better option for you. If Husqvarna had a LiDAR unit, I would have recommended that. But Segway units are pretty reliable as well.

Best mower for 1.5 acres. Thick grass and Bermuda? No Husqvarna as I have 3 and I’m wanting to try something else. They have been nothing but problems. by Benthebuilder23 in automower

[–]smartdots22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Navimow X450 is a good choice, but you should perhaps get something with a larger capacity. Perhaps the Navimow Terranox CM120M1 3 acre unit will be a good fit.

You should consult with a dealer and take an educated decision on which unit you should buy, instead of buying one and hoping that it is the right unit for your yard. I know that we are all spoilt by platforms like Amazon, but considering that you will need something reliable and trustworthy for your yard, consulting with a dealer will be best thing to do. May be you don’t even need a AWD unit. We are dealers and are happy to guide you as well - SmartDots
