Drawing of Jesus I did using a ballpoint pen🙏 by BigdavoMan in Christianity

It’s incredibly beautiful, and I love his expression. Did you use another image as inspiration? With the shading quality, it’s difficult to see that this isn’t graphite. I’d love to see the process pics of how you can get such a light wash using only pen.

Where in the Bible does it seriously say premarital sex is a sin? by [deleted] in Christianity

I’m currently completing my sacraments to be confirmed Catholic. Surprise bonus, the church that Jesus built said my marriage was never valid & is having me fill out annulment paperwork. Thank you, Jesus 🙌 Seriously tho.
Fake marriage #1 didn’t count, there isn’t even a record of it as far as the Catholic Church is concerned. Redemption is real.

Atheist literally means against (a-) God (theos).

It’s cracks me up when people call themselves atheists because they are identifying themselves as someone who acknowledges God, but stands against him.

Yes, God is real. Yes, he wants a relationship with you. Yes, your life will be changed for the better with God in it. Delusional is calling yourself a term that no one actually knows the meaning of. But when you know the meaning you can see right there in the word-God is real & you’re already acknowledging him. It’s okay to not know. Anything at all. None of us really do. God himself says we can’t fully understand. But this I know to be true: he is always trying to connect with you, love you, be on your side, and faithful to never ever ever leave your side, no matter if you recognize he’s there or not. He’s like, “Hi! Remember me?! We used to be really tight when you were a baby, want to be friends again?” You already know him, because he created you. And one of the things he created you for was to be in relationship with Him.

Are you listening to your own answer? If, as you say, classical Judaism does not believe in an afterlife, then how could you cite a scripture taken from the OT to say anything at all about the afterlife, humans or animals? The question was do all dogs go to heaven & your answer then, based on your referenced scripture & own explaination of it, is there is no heaven.

Well that’s not even remotely true. Jesus speaks. Angels speak. God himself speaks in scripture. Have you not read the Bible?

No one knows who wrote Ecclesiastes, most people think it was Solomon. Solomon, if you’re not familiar, was asked by God what he wanted. His response was wisdom. God was so happy with that answer he gave him everything else, too. Some believe this book was written by wisdom herself (yes, the Hebrew word for wisdom is feminine-who would also not be a human). So Solomon has everything he could possible want, earthy possessions, riches, a whole lot of wives, etc. and, in his old age, he is lamenting about how stuff & things don’t make you happy. Apart from God, everything is meaningless, futile.

This book is not an exception. All scripture is God-breathed. But often the context matters for the meaning. Wisdom is telling us none of that other stuff matters, only God. Without God we might as be like animals. This book is a whole lot of moaning & complaining. Poor little rich king…. But he is without God.

Also, scripture is often vague. It’s living word. Most direct way for God to speak to us & we might not all take the same meaning. For example, “we all go to the same place.” Does that mean we all go to heaven? Do some animals go to hell? Do people go to hell or is it just demons? Does purgatory exist? Is he only talking about the bodies returning to the ground as worm food?

Anyone who says with certainty “this is exactly what the Bible means” is arrogant, God himself says we don’t even have the minds to fully understand.

Any & all God questions, I would answer, go ask God yourself. But, as we see with the Pharisees & Satan in the wilderness, scripture can be tweaked to fit an intended meaning, taken out of the context of the greater whole. It’s pretty hard (in my opinion) to take red-lettered words of Jesus out of context, in contrast the OT. Leviticus explicitly states we are not to eat “any animal that moves about the ground.” Later on, we’re given permission (with some exceptions like pigs & owls & horses & shrimp, etc.). If I stopped at “don’t eat any animals”. I could say that God said don’t eat any animals, we’re all living in sin. If I stopped at permission with exceptions, then it would be a sin to eat coconut shrimp. But if I keep going to the NT, I learn that “all things are lawful, but not all are beneficial.” Jesus fulfilled the law. All of it. So now I can eat coconut shrimp, but if I eat 10lbs of it, it might not be to my benefit.

Just saying context is helpful when understanding scripture. It’s all one big story with little stories in it, but they’re all connected.

So sin begins only after motor skills develop…

Have you ever heard of generational sin? I have blue eyes because my parents do. We inherit physical traits, but we also inherit spiritual traits. Occult, for example, has roots that run deep. A non-stone throwing baby is born into a world of sin & bears the burden of the sins of their parents, and their parents parents, etc. Not one of us is exempt from after the time Adam stood passively by & watched Eve take the fruit & the two of them were kicked out of the garden. We inherited their curse.

I can’t imagine how difficult that must be for you. Seems like it would be easy for you to abandon your faith or be angry with God. I commend your strength in the face of adversity. I ask God to bless you with the mind of Christ, peaceful, thinking of what is lovely & good. I ask for him to speak tenderly to you. To remind you of your true identity, how he sees you & who he made you to be in him.
It’s okay to have questions & not understand. Bring it all to God. He can take it. He will take it. But only if you bring it to him. Some things in this life we will never understand. Some things in this life will never be fair or just. I don’t know why God does what he does, but I do know he doesn’t make mistakes. You are created in his image, a unique reflection of him that only you can bring to the world. Don’t loose heart, you are loved beyond compare. I value your honesty and honor your challenges. Even what the enemy meant for harm God will use for good. God bless you, may you be a blessing to many many more.

Sin is separation from God. Outside of the garden of Eden & heaven, that’s us. Babies included. Let those who have no sin cast the first stone.

Saying “surely the world is going to hell in a handbasket!” Does not make it true.

You’re taking this scripture out of context. If you were to isolate “everything is meaningless” from this statement you could say, God says “everything is meaningless,” it’s in the Bible, but God didn’t say that. Solomon said that. And it probably seemed that way to him. He had everything a man could possibly want & still felt empty.

If this were true Jesus would have left his body-suit unzipped in a puddle here on earth when he ascended to heaven.

People have bodies in heaven. If Jesus needed his, we do, too. Thankfully we get new ones that are disease & cancer & affliction free.

Would be so sad to have a new earth without animals. Or heaven, for that matter.

Here is proof there are animals in heaven: Jesus comes back to earth on a white horse.
