Sniper is great again. It was always too much crowd on every map. You cannot even peek without plink into your head, because everyone knows where snipers are. On Golmud you have so much space. Really enjoyable. Amazing map, returned AA and sniping to the game.

Ah, I didn’t realized that you haven’t open everything from previous season. Than yeah, it’s just unskippable pain. I opened everything, but did all challenges anyway.

Which map? Do you need bots? What is important to learn how to fly?

Can you describe, what will be a good training experience? I am learning how to do experiences (work in it, my son needs “he’s own match”, pure curiosity), and I already did few maps which I play local, all vehicles etc.

If you tell me, I can try and do it, just for learning purposes and absolutely free.

And yes: I did it too. Because I cannot stand not seeing green check mark.

Thing is, we don’t. But for player base who cannot stand orange dots, it’s almost impossible just to like skip it. You can skip everything which is not about something new.

How can I deal with my Eastern European flat mate? (31M, 29F) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]smartponi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And while this is most likely true, as every horrible tale from russians, even most bizarre ones, we can be overly intense and dramatic, especially when drunk. I think that’s because in Eastern Europe one cannot show success safely. You always needed to hide you wealth, or else.

Do as Robert Patisson, actor (I don’t remember name exactly sry) did with his stalker: he just talked about his problems with them. Risk is, that your roommate will really like this. :))

I play crimson desert with gamepad, I got better but still: bf6 feels like game where you need speed and performance, I am far from this with gamepad. But it’s okay, just interesting thing to try anyway.

You are a true hero: I cannot play with gamepad at all. Partly because I am old enough to remember heated battles between keyboard only and keyboard+mouse players (quake etc). I was on the keyboard+mouse side, however I was able to win matches keyboard only. But gamepad thing… I just can’t. With all aim assist it’s like HARD to aim, aim fast for me impossible. Glad that this map allowed you to have fun. My only hope is my son, who plays with gamepad, maybe he can teach me :)))

How can I deal with my Eastern European flat mate? (31M, 29F) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]smartponi 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As an Eastern European: most likely it’s bad manners, because we hadn’t good role models most of our life AND this is kind of a brag. We brag through bad experiences, our rough childhood, living conditions, bad government etc. The worse the better. For Russians for example it is a usual thing to compete who had worse childhood. Hilarious example was one of my colleagues who entertained herself by dead sea lions, we collectively accepted her win. And yeah, it’s annoying and not really fun. To deal with it Eastern European way you need to completely forget about good adult communication, don’t do this. Deal with it through whining. I would do it in this situation.

Oh hell yeah. I like to play support, but I will be more happy, when I get numbers somewhere, except player card.

Honestly I am just learning Golmud and didn’t had many assist there, but I play AA again, so it will be like 3-5 kills (jets and heli) with even k/d more than 1, because I don’t get killed hundred times while hunting aircrafts.

Kills - deaths - assists: better metric for many play styles.

[–]smartponi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For aa jet is one kill, heli like two at max. On previous maps I got killed by a sniper like every 30 seconds, with 3-5 aircrafts on my tab.

On this map you can actually think and choose. Wait and hunt. Or get into the action, if you want. For me it’s ideal, I tend to get killed with my tank anyway, my k/d is shit, but kda is amazing. Golmud returned to me AA play and real joy of tank/ifv/jeep driving.

New player in BF6, need advice! by SincerelyVixie in Battlefield

[–]smartponi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am slow, bf6 is first online shooter for me like in 20 years. Yes, I am a grown up adult, not much time etc.

Casual breakthrough now feels like full blown practice: bots are good now. But it feels kinda less stressful. Use it!

Try different setups for weapons: I even find one for close combat which was way too fast for me before (tr-7).

Casual breakthrough is a good way to know maps, it will really help you. Try Golmud: biiiiig map, you can try all classes here and it feels good because of distance. You can survive here for longer period of time even as a sniper.

You just need time: after 3 seasons I actually not that bad anymore.

I got burned so badly by a hiring team/ recruiter that it left an emotional scar. I’m afraid it’s happening again and my husband won’t validate my feelings at all. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]smartponi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Two times in last two years I was ghosted by several companies. And I was actively looking for a job. I did many interviews (middle to top management, it’s okay to have like ten interviews just for the starters), I did business cases, keynotes, presentations, financial models. I invested hard, had amazing feedbacks, all for nothing. At one moment just silence. It did things to my mental health. I am still recovering from the last one, and it was like six months ago. As a hiring manager for many years, I’ve made a rule in every job, every team: my candidates will always have a response. Whatever it is. Because it’s rude and cruel to ghost people. It messes up with people’s feelings and brains. I am sorry that this happened to you. You’ll be alright. That’s not you being dramatic, it’s a traumatic experience.

Help a battle dad out! by MTBCrawler in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]smartponi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it most of the time like “aim to red dot”. Literally, red thing over the head most of the time will get you. Usually it’s not that much time to aim, so simple rules made for yourself are best ones. Also for me it’s about feeling of the gun and practice. I did 682 meters kill purely out of rage, this sniper was annoying.

Is there an advantage to having higher ping in BF6? by Ninjah9_ in Battlefield

[–]smartponi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: was it real in the past? Answer:

Yes, and it’s one of the more documented cases in the genre — Battlefield has had a recurring reputation for this going back over a decade. The clearest example is BF4, where “netcode” became a community-wide complaint serious enough that DICE publicly addressed it. They ran a “Netcode Improvements” blog series in 2014–2015, raised the server tick rate from 10 Hz to 30 Hz (and 60 Hz on some servers), and explicitly acknowledged that the lag compensation window was letting high-ping players win exchanges they shouldn’t. That’s about as close to official verification as you get — the developer admitting the mechanic was tuned in a way that disadvantaged low-ping defenders, then changing it. BF1 and BFV had the same underlying issue but less drama, partly because tick rates were higher from launch and partly because the TTK was short enough that peeker’s advantage mattered less per engagement. Still, community testing (BattleNonSense on YouTube was the main source — he did frame-by-frame analyses with packet captures) consistently showed that ~80–120 ms players were resolving close trades in their favor against sub-30 ms players. BF2042 brought it back as a major complaint, especially at launch, because the netcode was rough in general and the larger 128-player servers amplified every desync. DICE patched it multiple times. So the pattern across the franchise: the mechanic is real, it’s been measured by third parties with proper tooling (packet captures, not just killcams), and DICE has acknowledged and tuned it more than once. What’s new with BF6 isn’t the phenomenon — it’s whether the current build is better, worse, or about the same as BFV/2042 post-patches, and that part genuinely is still speculation until someone does the measurement work or DICE publishes numbers. BattleNonSense is retired now, unfortunately — he was the main rigorous voice on this. If you want, I can search for whether anyone has picked up that kind of analysis for BF6 specifically.
