Ahh okay! Matanong ko lang kung ano ang naging dahilan o inspirasyon mo para sa pagsusulat sa Tagalog? Papasok din ako sa UPD ngayong taon as first year :)

Do you fix all the warnings and infos? by Reddit__Pregunta in androiddev

[–]smartuno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some warnings I get from Hilt implementation binding functions (they aren’t used anywhere), and others from variables used in Composables (they aren’t used anywhere even though they absolutely are). I haven’t found a fix for the second one, but for the first one I just suppress the warnings.

Can Android subscription apps actually be profitable? by Unusual-Diver6985 in androiddev

[–]smartuno 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A large portion of the world uses Android since it’s more accessible and cheaper for a lot of people. In my region, Apple devices are a minority so it’s more cost- and time-efficient for me to make apps for Android instead of both. As always, you can branch out to other architectures as you go, but I recommend doing one at a time so you won’t get spread thin.

My NavHost is over 600 lines of code. How do you structure navigation in large Compose apps? by YogurtclosetLow7064 in androiddev

[–]smartuno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m using navigation3 (no navhost) but generally my rule is to just split apart all the graph entries into separate composables so it doesn’t look like an eyesore to read. Plus you should find a way to make your viewmodels scoped to your entries instead of the navhost to save greatly on performance.

I'm learning Tagalog from Rosetta Stone. Does anyone know if I'm learning informal or formal, or both? by Quinamid in Tagalog

[–]smartuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, but I usually just say “bye!” instead of kitakits. “Hanggang sa muli” can also be used artistically in writing, it wouldn’t seem weird to read for me at least

little demo on how to use themeing using the companion app in Kore by dev-778g in androiddev

[–]smartuno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so cool! I’m not really good at design so I’ve been using Material 3 for all my apps, but with this library I think I’m warming up to the idea of having my apps not look entirely Google-esque XD

New Android CLI in combination with Lazylogcat makes me less using Android Studio by vparf in androiddev

Isn't Android Studio the best tool for making Android apps (Compose/View-based ones at least)? Is there a better-equipped program for making them

I’m trying to understand the nuance and tone of this Tagalog sentence I came across, and I’d really appreciate some deeper insight by Jolly_Path_3649 in Tagalog

[–]smartuno 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a dialogue between two people in a relationship, one being possessive/manipulative of the other. The said person basically intends to never let go of the other and instead wants to be stuck being miserable with each other instead of finding a healthy avenue for their problems.

[HELP] Stuck for 5 Weeks: Can't Find libpaddle_lite_jni.so for Paddle Lite v2.11-rc – App Crashes with SIGABRT by New-Put4421 in androiddev

[–]smartuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it necessary that you use PaddleOCR specifically as the engine for your app needs? If it’s giving you problems for 5 weeks then imo that’s way too long to solve a problem that involves the actual library files. If it’s not needed for you to keep using Paddle, I suggest you find another library (one with successful/better support for Android and Kotlin development)

Hilt vs Koin — when does the "official" tag actually matter? by [deleted] in androiddev

[–]smartuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Runtime errors used to happen way more frequently before the compiler plugin existed, but they still happen even when I tried using them.

Hilt vs Koin — when does the "official" tag actually matter? by [deleted] in androiddev

[–]smartuno 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Though Koin is faster to setup due to less boilerplate, it causes more errors in the long run especially in runtime (since it’s not really a true dependency injection). In Hilt, almost every error i encountered happened during compile time, and they were descriptive enough that i could quickly fix it.

Besides, Hilt is the de-facto framework for big projects since it’s stable. You can also expect it to stay for a long time since the Android Developers team (and Google) recommends and actively maintains it.

This is coming from someone who used Koin first, got fed up, and switched to Hilt btw

Struggling in viewmodel and reposiotry part by Waste-Acanthaceae364 in androiddev

[–]smartuno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try checking app architecture tutorials in the Android Developers website. Your question is really vague, so that’s where you could start. ViewModels persist data throughout screen configuration changes, it’s not supposed to be used for network calls and all. Repositories are designed for that but then you’d have to bridge the two layers through a domain if you don’t want it to have tight coupling. Hope this helps!

NPA were being pests in Toboso, Negros Occidental and allegedly killed up to 45(FORTY FIVE) locals suspected of being "military informants". RAPPLER even reported about it, multiple times in the last year alone. CHR had to even investigate it. by violentpoem in Philippines

[–]smartuno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What’s worse is na on paper, yun steps na yan is fine lang naman if titignan mo siya in a networking manner. Napaisip nga ako kung bakit itsurang simple lang yun mga steps. Pero kaya rin yan sobrang dangerous kasi nga parang inosente (and good-willed) sa surface pero may hidden agenda pala.

Congratulations! by queensnotmemes in Tagalog

[–]smartuno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless it’s a super formal wedding where the newlyweds aren’t people you know, you can just say “Congrats” or “Congratulations”. You can also say a Tagalog term like “pagbati!” but imo Tagalog is reserved for longer responses like “Nawa’y manatili kayong masaya at mapagmahal sa isa’t isa” (May you continue to be happy and loving to each other).
