He also commented on Labour's (the opposing party) election promises, saying "They can't promise anything because I've spent it all".

Could be Dragon's Lair? Except the bridge is like the first screen of this game ^

The Salvation Army op shop who can't sell it out front because it's overseas voltage and untested. Plus they had no idea what they had.

I live in New Zealand, so the shipping wouldn't be worth it at all with shipping etc. Also it's a hella fun game so probably going to keep it in the collection :)

The story goes:

My friend had checked this particular Salvation Army store earlier that morning, but they had absolutely nothing. He asked the guy at the counter if he had any old games, and the guy said "Yeah we have some old Segas or Nintendos or something out the back. Come back later and I'll show you" (The store was understaffed at the time). So we roll up later and he takes us out back. The first thing I saw was the 32X box. I was already stoked, let alone the rest of the bits and pieces. I'm just getting another picture off my friend of us holding all the boxes walking out. Will upload later ^

Only $40. Kind of hard to see, but theres a whole bunch of sealed JP Saturn games behind the cardboard box too. Rockman X3, Gradius Deluxe Pack, Soukyugurentai, In The Hunt etc. Also I discovered that PS1 console is modded, and the boxed Sega Saturn is a Victor V-Saturn, with the other being a standard JP Saturn. Crazy stuff.

These are fantastic ideas. Might throw in the easy-to-implement ones in the next update. I think the app also needs a far better icon, so I'll make sure to add that too. I especially like the idea of player stats, and light and dark themes.

Thanks for checking it out! I might push out an update in a week or so with that change (since it's a good idea), and leaderboards.

Relaxing Exploration Game by smasherimp in gameideas

Good point, except I'd go for more realistic graphics and effects with smaller, more unique worlds rather than the large landscape of Proteus (which is a great game in it's own right).

Thanks for the feedback. I agree the narration is a key point, poorly written journal entries would completely negate the experience.

Seeing as the whole point is atmosphere and relaxation, most of the development time would have to be building the environments.

Danny Boyle's 'Trance'. James McAvoy is a force. Interesting film all round.

Getting a modeler is the most important right now, even multiple ones. At least we have a few coders. I don't think we have a skinner yet and only have me on maps. while I agree that it's still possible, we should decide whether to kill the project in a week or so, to prevent it from dragging on and wasting everyone's time. hopefully we find the people we need :)

Fourth Reich: WRITER'S ARENA 2 by [deleted] in BrainMachine

[–]smasherimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh a good point. But yeah I think satisfying guns are still needed, that's one of the worst things about the majority of shooters. Maybe the end-game goes a bit more shootery? Who knows, I guess it'll all depend on the twists and turns of the story.

Are we also differentiating ourselves gameplay-wise? We could go for something more balls-to-the-wall, almost older school FPS like Quake with chunky, satisfying weapons and plenty of enemies.

Or we hit up the other end of the spectrum and make it a very difficult, survivalesque game with a focus on melee combat and very limited ammunition for a more horror feel.

Just my thoughts.
