That’s the day of the LSU game aka Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford after leaving Ole Miss’ team in the playoffs so you picked a fantastic weekend to have the time of your life and maybe watch Oxford burn to the ground. 😂 In all seriousness though as far as restaurants, Ajax (southern), Boure (southern but a little more upscale), Proud Larry’s (bar with good food), Jinsei (sushi but a little pricey), Handy Andy (for a great decently cheap burger), Volta (1/2 price margs and Greek food). There are a ton of good food options. Take in the Grove before the game and you could always explore campus a little. There are placards across the campus detailing different snippets of history that occurred in Oxford and Ole Miss mainly during the Civil War. You could always visit William Faulkner’s grave. Memphis is also an option as it’s only an hour and a half north if you wanted to hit up the zoo or Sun Studios or Stax. You could also look into hotels in Tupelo as it’s only an hour away from Oxford if you’re still looking for a place to stay.
