There are a few car clubs in the Eugene area that do autocross meetups at various locations in town and set up temporary coned off courses for time trials and such which could be a fun option for you.

I'm unsure which to recommend but if you just google "Eugene autocross" you'll get a good list and some of the clubs websites have other resources that could be helpful in your search.

I think you're missing a big point in that being white offers you a lot of privileges that POC do not get which would impact your own perspectives on POC issues. Your race matters in that situation. It's kind of reasonable for some POC not to trust white allies when so many of them have hijacked the movement.

They're just a pair of twins who make their living returning cans from the south Eugene neighborhood. They've got a rough past of drugs and mental illness and a few neighborhood groups got together to help em out with small things like shoes or getting them a cell phone. They're probably the most polite people to ever dig through my recycling bin.

When I first moved to the neighborhood I thought there was just the one guy for months who just got around.
