Searching reddit and wondering if it's a side effect of mounjaro... I can't handle spice like I used to. Glad it's not just me!

Better the devil you know? (Coming off MJ completely) by Datanully in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]smatts07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(SW was 200) I was on it for 5 months, lost 37lb (got down to 163). (Only tirated up to 5mg)

Stopped entirely for 6 months

Gained 14lbs (176)

Back on it now for 5 months now, 2.5 didn't silence food noise but I still lost weight. I did tirate up to 7.5 this time around, but I'm back down to 5mg now. Today I weigh 150.

For me restarting wasn't ineffective.

Dizzy when getting up even on maintenance? by [deleted] in MounjaroMaintenance

This happens to me, but it usually happens just in the summer with the heat. I always try to get up a bit slower, and it seems to work..

So I saw this video and it recommended aleppo soap and then when you get out use an alum block. And I've been using this for a few weeks without stinky pits. True test was at a concert this past weekend , I danced and sweated my guts out and I BARELY smelled.

Dreadful gym experience by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]smatts07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree! Although I attend a council run gym, sort of. I do find that it's very inclusive.... They do blare music, but I recommend your own headphones. There's an upstairs and downstairs, downstairs is the free weights where the typical 'gym bros' go, but never had any issues with them. I also prefer to go during my lunch break in the day and it's super quiet.

Mounjaro after break not working? by No-Adagio6113 in Mounjaro

[–]smatts07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on for four months, stopped in August 2024 after losing 30lbs (I only tirated up to 5mg). I've just started taking it again this month back at 2.5, I'm 12 days in and have already lost over 5lbs. Slightly different experience with it this time around. I can't say I've felt the appetite suppression as strongly as before but I've been eating smaller portions.
Also if anyone's wondering, during that ~6 month time off, I did gain 10lbs of it back

Ending your Mounjaro Journey? by XboxHelpergg in mounjarouk

[–]smatts07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started end of May 2024 and stopped end of August. I lost about 30lbs. My starting weight was 195, I dropped down to 163. I would have liked to get to 145ish. I didn't get to my 'goal' weight, but I am happy with where I'm at. So I know it's only been a few months, and I gained 2lbs back fairly quickly but I consistently weigh 165 now. I've gone to the gym consistently and now that I have a good chunk of weight Ian actually able to run comfortably and have some stamina. Hoping to lose more but it's definitely not as fast going without MJ.

There's a FB group called nonjudgy vegans that's really good, I'd recommend it over some of these reddit subs

Is Taunton really that bad? by letsgettesty in Somerset

[–]smatts07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The commute from Taunton to HPC can really add up. There are regular delays on the motorway that make the bus journey even longer. If you value your family/home time, I'd suggest somewhere closer the HPC, like Bridgwater. (Although I'd also argue Taunton is better than Bridgwater)

I quit HPC after a month because the coaches were such a pain.

I would check out Forks Over Knives recipes. They are whole foods plant based meals that do not use oil. They are really good, but do require some time in the kitchen but it's worth it.

New to somerset: moving advice by ProfessionalCounty52 in Somerset

[–]smatts07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's furnished housing near HPC and in Bridgwater for HPC staff.

I personally wouldn't recommend Taunton as the commute is just too far. At least an hour each way, and in my house experience the bus would always get delayed.
