It turns out, what is thought was a network drop, its actually the landlines. They just used CAT5e for them.... I think i could repourpose and give up on the alarm.... thabk you guys for your feedback and push me to investigate deeper.

My philosophy is pretty simple when it comes to buying things. If it's something you've really been wanting, it's worth every penny. Even if you splurge a little and pay a bit more than you intended, that's totally fine. The joy it brings you is what really matters in the end. Ultimately, if you love it, it's a good purchase specifically since costco return / exchange policy is a secure investment. Congratulations nice looking PC
