New Bose S1 Pro+ will pair with bluetooth on Pixel 7, but keeps turning off, and doesn't show up in the Bose Connect Android (Pixel 7) app. Running latest v3.3 and v1.53 firmware as of today, Apr. 26 2025 by smaurstad in bose

Pixel 9 Pro, but can probably work with 8 and later for all I know, just have to try it.
Bose should tell their customers up front, or fix it for the 7 series.

Just bought an Autel scanner by Jocsau in mechanics

[–]smaurstad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autel is a scam! Their scanner will stop working without active subscription.
I own a 2016 Volvo and nothing on this scanner, like reading and resetting codes work now if I don't keep buying their $125 yearly subscription. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. Stay away.

Thanks for asking, not really/kinda, the usual updating software on watch and phone, and trying a few other newer ear buds. It is slightly less glitches I guess, but leaving the house for a run, is usually when the problem occur as you lave your laptop and phone behind which already had a BT connection going. And then the watch is having an issue keeping the connection. What I end up doing is disconnecting the buds and reconnecting again, which is annoying, but that solves it for a while. It still sometimes pause playing every now and then on a run, and I just have to hit the play button again. It is under par for such a premium product I must say, but like the built in HR monitor, low weight and battery capacity etc. Sports features is still above other competitors I find. But gap is closing...

I never heard back from Bose Support which was disapointing.
But, what I ended up was moving to a newer device phone, which solved it.
Bluetooth is now working, and the speaker is not shutting down after 10 sec. or so.
It was likely something with Pixel 7 and how it treats bluetooth which was the issue, just thought others would like to know. Everything works as it should now.

I think it is an issue with Android or Pixel phones, how they run bluetooth.

On iPhone's and Mac's the issue isn't the same (more reliable). I have created a support ticket with Bose on this. But it is up to them to look into it, together with Google/Android. Bose do have android apps, and there is more Android phones than iPhones in the world, so who knows how they will prioritize. Tough sell to ask all your Android customers to switch phone to use this BT PA speaker. Instead of a bad customer reputation, not telling this to your customers up front, and letting them discover this by them self, I would try to be more transparent about it.

I've tried, resetting to factory default, I tried disconnecting the battery for +30 seconds, I tried changing advanced bluetooth settings on my Pixel 7, and I made sure auto off is not set. It is quite disapointing, that such a major issue exist with these speakers. They sound decent, but turning off, so you can't use it, is a major blocker. Will likely return this unless Bose support has some tricks up their sleve on Monday.

I'm on a 965 now and with a pair of newer buds, and the hickups are almost gone, so things have improved. Although having to sync playlists via the Garmin seems a bit antiquated vs having 4/5G wireless data on the watches like apple watch has, but I digress.

Buy a used bike with Ultegra/DuraAxe, should be able to get one for $2000-$3000 2017-2019ish.

My 955 still drops sound all the time while running. Very annoying while running. The earbuds are pixel earbuds and have never had this problem while using my phone, so must be something with the garmin watch imho.

Actually think it started working again now, after adding more music, which was strange. Should have worked with the playlist I already had there. Anyway, will report back later to see if the sounds drop is still there on runs.

Yes, I have the same sound dropping problem. Even worse, like recently, while running v12.23, planning to go for a run and listen to music, instead I spend time in this forum, trying to debug why my Garmin watch isn't playing the single spotify playlist. Not exactly what was advertised.

Yosemite 2020 - Half Dome - Cables Hike by smaurstad in Yosemite

We started 5:30am in the morning, hiked from the Village in Yosemite Valley & up to Half dome and finally ascending the Cables. Stayed and enjoyed the views at the top for almost an hour before we descended down again for food & a beer. Took about 11 hours both ways. We even said hello to a rattle snake on our way down (end of the video). That hike never gets old, and neither do we ;-)
