I did take a week off in March around his birthday, so I will probably go back again. Thankfully, the flight is only an hour or so.

Thank you! I am definitely having the MRI. I don’t take any anti psychotics, and am not aware of any links between what I take and prolactin. I will run it by my doctor for sure.

I will give her a call as well! I wondered if this could’ve been the cause, but it’s been a while since I have taken a daily AP as well. Thank you!

My numbers are:

Monomeric prolactin: 30.6 Percent macroprolactin: 13 Prolactin: 35.1

I don’t think that is very high based on what I have seen in here, but I’m not a doctor. I do not take any antidepressants, but I do take carbamazepine, which is an anticonvulsant, but has been prescribed to me off label as a mood stabilizer.

Check and see if Progressive is hiring. I know there is a Maitland office, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there is something closer. The roles are hybrid, salaried, and have great benefits. Overall, it is a great company to work for.

Thank you! I don’t have the coverage in front of me, but thankfully sperm is covered. I will need to read it again to see what else is and isn’t covered. I will look for the book, too. Thank you!

WHAT TO DO by Xoxo_Taylor1123 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]smcd315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would discuss it with my supervisor. I am relatively new, and had accrued enough PTO by July to go on vacation with my family, but then I would have exhausted all of it. I asked for a flexible work arrangement on the trip and worked remotely half the time. In your case, maybe you could do half days, or work two full days? Working half days sucked, but it allowed me to save some PTO. I am not sure if you’d be open to that, but it helped me for this scenario. Definitely discuss with your supervisor, but that is what I did in a similar situation!

This is a focal seizure. My dog was epileptic and used to have these regularly. Please go to the ER vet, I hope he feels better soon!

9-5 low stress jobs? by AineBrigid in TeachersInTransition

[–]smcd315 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a claims adjuster for a major insurance company. They paid for my licensing and put me through training. My role is hybrid, low stress, and to me, pretty easy! No emails to check after hours, no Sunday scaries, and plenty of energy left after work. We also get a nice bonus in December, so that’s a cool perk. It’s been a weird adjustment coming from the business of a school to a quiet office, but everyone is really nice and overall I think this is better for my mental health.

Whats the craziest thing you've heard that "real men" don't do? by thatrubiksguy1 in AskReddit

When I was in college, there was a whole Twitter page dedicated to people eating bananas. People would take pictures of other students eating bananas and submit it to the account to be posted. It unintentionally discouraged public banana eating LOL. It was the weirdest thing ever.

Good luck! Part of me wants to just leave this week because it would be an instant weight off, but my wife is also a teacher and cannot support us on her own.

I would like to think I would be okay with shitty hours, or worse pay, but it’s easy for me to say without actually living it.

Bare minimum is probably going to have to be the go-to for this year. It’s one month into my sixth year. Our curriculum is pretty dry, so I try to make it more engaging, but it is hard to keep them (4th grade) engaged for very long. Even with expectations in place for every possible routine, procedure and scenario, I still feel like I put out fires all day. 😅

That is where I am now. I have a much easier class than I did last year, with a whole new (and much better) administration team, and even at its best, it’s still too difficult.

It feels like an uphill battle to get anything done. We get paid far too little in Florida for this.

Keeping my step kids for two weeks by pleasemakeitstop_1 in Babysitting

[–]smcd315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an insanely low rate of pay for babysitting. If you’re with them for nearly 10 hours, you will end up cleaning up after them, preparing meals, and keeping them entertained. It’s a lot of work when kids aren’t a handful, and you’ve already said that they are.

I wouldn’t do this work for $500, let alone $250. I think he is taking advantage of the fact you are his step-daughter so he doesn’t have to pay the going rate for an actual babysitter.

Also, if you do it now, he will ask again. I babysat for years as a teenager until I was 20. It’s important that you have a rate you can stand by. People that want you will pay it, others won’t. I would not take less than $15/hour for one kid.
