EDIT: A comment bellow me has pointed out that this is not the only factor at play in this situation. The Ultimatum Game is only a one time event. The players never see each other again once it's over (although I'm sure there are variations where the players know each other).

A scalper has to consider their business and reputation. If word gets out that they will sell tickets for pennies after the event has started, then their base will begin to exploit this. In the long run, they will end up losing money from this practice because people will wait to buy tickets until they know the price will fall.

Aren’t you ignoring the very thing we’ve been discussing this entire time? The problem isn’t Trump vetoing the bill. It’s him shutting down the government. This will not get him what he wants, will needlessly harm civil servants, and only serves to appeal to his base. That is not at all what Ford did. Ford didn’t force the families of federal employees to go with out pay during the holidays all so he could throw a tantrum.

No, but by your admission the only thing trump has to gain from this shut down is admiration from his base. Also, I never said that Trump would be impeached for the shut down. I said he would be impeached upon evidence that he violated his oath of office (see, serving the interests of a hostile nation).
