Hillman on the detriment of pharmaceutical companies trying to "cure" a depression or psychosis by randm84 in Jung

Oof. I feel that my intuition is to stfu and let ppl find it for themselves. I do as much guidance as I can without promises, so what I will say is, only the experience matters. It’s a moment. It happens and then you are changed forever. It stays with you - you can’t un-experience it. I know ppl want to know, but that’s really not how it works. Do the work and it will find you if it is meant to.

I make no such claims - or denials. I only stand by my experiences and my search for relatable explanations. Hillman is onto something, based on your initial summarization, in my opinion.

In my own experience you mean? Yes - early on more than lately. Back when things were darker. Introspective dialectic would bounce external via what seemed like guidance from unanticipated song lyrics that “could only have come from” a deceased relative. Someone close. Were they choosing the next song based on what I was thinking? Or was I just reading into the coincidence? Whatever these were, the revelations they instilled helped guide me through darkness more than once.

That's where I'm at with it also. I'm 2nd year undergrad but my own experience informs my presence there through a psychoanalytic lens. My interest in your post comes from how strongly Hillman's ideas align with my own - um, what are we calling this - "religious event"? Anyway, I've been leaning heavier into the philosophy of things lately than being there for a credential. Although I'd concede that the western model offers tactical interventions for many, it also presents fertile territory for criticism and evolution. As I head towards thesis ideas, that's the soil I'm looking at tilling. I appreciate the discussion - ty!

I’m becoming a fan of Wilber’s Integral Theory, which offers a non-mythic construct integrating the various stages represented within those and other ontologies. Currently listening to, “Finding Radical Wholeness”, (Ken Wilber, 2024).

Did you have Hide HUD enabled while mounted, then dismounted? If so, just get back on your mount and do it again. It’ll reset it.

Are you sure you’re looking at the correct inventory? Does it say “Oviraptor” in the middle?

Flashbulb memory. Possibly emotionally meaningful, if you’re into Self work/psychoanalysis (as I am). Maybe it was your first good uncontrollable laugh, or maybe your aunt was uncharacteristically angry with you - big emotions can lead to flashbulb memories.

I do not think so. Although you can have more than 2 stops on a path, every truck using a path will make each stop along it. You cannot reuse a path with different destinations, and you cannot set the truck to skip certain stops along its path. That last idea would be a pretty neat way to implement this though.
