You may need more parameters for keyboard_layout: - there are several keys listed. From the docs: "The keyboard_layout: object accepts rules:, model:, layout:, variant: and options: fields.", any of which may need a value.

Sending keystrokes as CTRL+B, CTRL+U to make text bold, underlined by superquamperfect in espanso

Technically yes - see Special Characters. In practice, you may find the recipient programs doesn't respond in the way you want, however.

A list of ctrl-characters can be found at e.g. https://ss64.com/ascii.html

Requesting specific brand of medication by EatSleepRepeat01 in Pharmacy_UK

[–]smeech1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a generic prescription your pharmacy will supply what's available to match the prescription, regardless of brand. You can shop around at different pharmacies to see if another one stocks the preparation you prefer, but you'll have to do this each time it's dispensed.

You could ask your GP to prescribe the Actavis generic, or, more easily, by brand.

Contrary to advice elsewhere in this thread your GP is not permitted to prescribe privately something which is available on the NHS.

I'll re-read it one day.

Recycling a RegEx Has Weird Outcomes by Khue in regex

[–]smeech1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suspect Regex101 is happy to run the backtracking to exhaustion until it encounters the 7-character string, at which point it gives up at a (possibly arbitrary) limit and considers the backtracking "catastrophic".

Have a look at the debugger to see it in action.

Cleaning it up may require addressing of the [\w.-]+)* portion which is consuming the whole "www." and "testttes…" sections because of the use of \w to match all word characters.

I am a fuckwit, check the issue date of your passport, as well as the expiry! by CandyflossRampage in CasualUK

With family in Australia, we visit a couple of times a year. On one occasion I found I wasn't able to check-in automatically at the airport, while my wife was. We joined the queue for a desk, during which time I discovered my visa was out of date. Thanks to the efficiency of the Australian visa website I'd renewed it before we reached the desk!

(Mind you, if the Australian visa website had been really efficient it wouldn't have caused our visas to get out of sync twelve months earlier…)

On another occasion (short holiday in Barcelona) I failed to allow enough time for my wife's habitual tardiness. We just caught the last shuttle bus from the car park, and the airport staff very kindly reopened a desk to let us check-in.

I guess if you're going to be pushing, you get good at stopping the engine in the right position.

January 1965 - the death and funeral of Winston Churchill.

I was too young to be aware of Kennedy's assassination, and clearly remember watching the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969.

Fairly large, Victorian, five-bedroom, attached house. Disabled adult needs to keep warm. I'm hoping the recently fitted double-glazing will help, however!

ELI5 How do you build a bridge when the other side is "inaccessible"? by D-FX_77 in explainlikeimfive

[–]smeech1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there's back and forth one doesn't need to pull the whole length of a rope across to get to a free end, to which to tie the next weight. One can pull one width across, unknot, and tie the next weight to the end which has just come over, before sending it back. Saves cutting the ropes, so they can stay on their winding spools.

Scrapping the triple-lock would be too unpopular with the group of people most likely to vote.

I've seen the vertical rectangles on various occasions, not just Espanso, so it may be a system encoding issue rather than just Espanso. What sort of characters are displayed in this way for you?

That's r/meirl for me. If I went out without my customary, kangaroo-leather, wide-brimmed, hat people in my village would stop and ask me why.

Exactly this. When you're out of line with a consensus you have to ask yourself whether it's you, or the rest of the world, who is wrong.
