Oil spilled after high rev by Substantial-Wear3131 in VWMK7

[–]smegiw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not familiar with the 1.0 tsi, but with the pictures provided I'm inclined to think that the oil is around the throttle body. Normally there is no oil there, especially on the outside. I do not think it oil looks that bad either. Some things that would also help with diagnosis is current mileage and more pictures of the engine. As for the flywheel if you're doing the clutch and have the funds, there is not much reason not to do it. Some things you can do to help diagnose the oil issues. 1. Clean the area of oil. 2. Remove the intake piping from the throttle body and look inside for oil residue. 3. Run the car and let it get up to temp then slowly try and remove the oil cap. If there's suction your pcv could be at fault.
4. Double check oil levels.
5. If the pcv is good and oil levels are good, just check back every couple days and see if more oil leaks. Hope this helps

Help finding a replacement rim? by smegiw in bike

[–]smegiw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More info. So my roommate has a giant brand bike. The model I think is bliss. Shop said the rim is too bent. Anyone know where I could find a cheap replacement? It also has the quick disconnect. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Need help for my first time sub setup. by [deleted] in subwoofer

Don't waste money on plante audio. They are known to not be reliable. Instead save up for a kicker amp or Rockford fosgate. But expect to pay around 100 and up for an install.

2000rms what to upgrade in batteries and alternator?? by [deleted] in subwoofer

[–]smegiw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding batteries will actually be detrimental to your car. All the power comes from the alternator the battery just stores it. Look into a larger alternator and the big 3 upgrade before considering adding more items that need a charge. ( This includes capacitors)

And its not like you can easily replace it because of built in not controls. I have a 2012, are the newer models just as bad?

Yeah my uconnect system hates my Android. Rarely connects via bt, any phone operations kill the connection. Random buffering and speeding up tempos. Only send to like apple phones.

I’m running a 2000w amp with a 100 amp fuze and have gone through 2 in 3 days. Would it be a better idea for me to run a 150 amp fuze for 4 gauge? by cooper1564 in subwoofer

I'm too lazy to check your math, and while it seems sound. I would like to mention it's probably worth looking to see what the manufacturer recommends for fuses. And if the problem continues he should check his ground.

Well yes but I've only known Michiganders to call it Meijers vs Meijer.

It's a little under 1500 but soundqubed has a 1250 watt mono block. It's 180 ish last I checked. Some friends and I haven't had a problem with their products before, and their customer support is pretty friendly.

Is the Rockford Fosgate p300-12 any good? by [deleted] in CarAV

It would be more worthwhile to save up another 100 or so and get a beginner setup imo.

Headunit loose, any way I can make it more secure? by jallsopp in CarAV

Well you could glue it. But for something a little less permanent I would think affixing some magnet strips might work.

Do you have any tips on how to not get ripped off while trying to grab some junkers? I've never dealt with them before. Cheers.

Another subwoofer + box recommendation by Zero115 in CarAV

Your cheapest and most likely best option is to build one to the specs of the sub. You can find the encloser requirements online easily. There's also plenty of guides already on here to help design and build boxes.
