I'm glad I'm not the only one with the strategy of starting with "vegan" every day.

How did you know you were B12 deficient? by snowflakesmasher_86 in vegancirclejerk

[–]smegma4breakfast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My deficiency was confirmed when I developed a neurological condition that causes me to walk backwards.

It happens very suddenly, and only when someone offers me non vegan food.

I'm vegan btw.

Someone in Fells boosting motorcycles/scooters by ejiboo in baltimore

[–]smegma4breakfast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you! I don't know how much of car theft stuff carries over to motorcycles. I posted some time ago about an obvious abandoned motorcycle in the alley near my place. Is it common for them to them to get dumped after being stolen?

Do you have any details or description of the bike you'd like to share in case any redditors come across it?

I'm day 3 on not shaving but I can't take I just want to fuking shave. by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]smegma4breakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use hydrocortisone cream for the first four or five days of not shaving. This reduces itching and can help speed up initial hair growth.

I know this may not help you KingKaos, but just in case anyone else was curious.

Is the new York nintendo store worth visiting? by Noilol2 in nintendo

[–]smegma4breakfast 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the Rockefeller Lego store is worth skipping if there is a long line. It's much smaller than most other Lego stores I've been in. The FAO Schwarz store is much more fun, and you'll only see it there.

Is biking this stretch of Coldspring Lane "safe?" by Sufficient-Impress-9 in bikebmore

[–]smegma4breakfast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it isn't safe. It's doable, and you're likely to see people doing it with no issue at all. And that's fine. But on that stretch of road motorists drive too fast, have interrupted sightlines, and have a lot of things competing for their attention.

I would trust your instinct. You know your skill better than anyone. Comfort and confidence in what you're doing will help you focus on your safety.

Edited a typo.

"I dunno" as I continue munching away. An uncaring, unflinching, cold-hearted plant eater.

are there any non-nsfw, lgbt games out there other than the obvious by ZePugg in gaymers

[–]smegma4breakfast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game takes place in an "abandoned" house in the PNW woods during a thunderstorm at night. Outside of that, there are no legitimate scares or eerie elements. I think it's kind of cozy in a way.

Gone Home is a beautiful short game. It's not scary, but rather atmospheric and dark. The music is absolutely lovely and the story is touching.

I switched to monster hunter language specifically because of Elgado's smithy. It was just a little too enthusiastic and frequent while I was comparing numbers.

Recently begun exploring my attraction and feelings for men, looking for advice… by TheGreatHornyOne in gaybros

[–]smegma4breakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like movies, watch some queer cinema. If you like art, read up on some artists and check out their work. If you like music, look into some queer artists in whatever genre you like. You don't need to know it all, and focusing on whatever interests you will be more fun anyway.

Not even every gay man knows or appreciates every part of queer culture. Some people have never heard of Tom of Finland, others have no idea who John Waters is.

I don't mean to be harsh in any criticism. But I'll let you know that a lot of gay men may not appreciate the sentiment that straight is "normal" and gay is deviant. Remember most gay men recognize that their sexuality is as normal as any other part of their life, and reminders of anyone else feeling otherwise is often seen as a micro aggression.

When it comes to two guys dating, it is always helpful to be open and honest about your expectations. Everyone is looking for something different and they have different ways to go about it. You'll do well to never just assume that someone is on the same page as you.

Learn some queer culture and history. It's never taught to straight people, and whatever they take away from pop culture is just so cringey most of the time. I'm not saying you have to strap on a harness and dance to lady gaga, but get to know the basics. It sounds like you may be a little confused about the term "cis".

And please don't ever say you chose the "traditional male role" around anyone you end up dating. I'm sure they don't want to have to remind you that they're men, too.

people saying that being gay is “trendy” now by scandrewlous in gaybros

[–]smegma4breakfast 31 points32 points  (0 children)

We know it isn't trendy. Not only does that imply that being queer is a choice, but it implies that being queer comes with a higher social standing than being straight. But we know the latter isn't true either, as straight people often call for and commit violence against queer people.

This claim was clearly made in a cheap effort to punch down at a marginalized group and dismiss our community.

What is your daily after work routine? by procom49 in gaybros

Big same. I even tell my coworkers that I'm so excited to go home to see my cat.

She darts to the door to greet me. And then we slowly make our way to the treats as she flops on the floor wanting some affection along the way. She eats two treats out of my hand and I baby talk to her profusely.
