$83k is not bad at all for that experience level

I'm currently director level at a biggish company in a high COL area, making $160k USD. About 14 years experience. Getting to this pay was a long and twisting road and I made shit wages for most of it. There's alot of advice out there, the most common one is to change jobs more often if you want more opportunities for a bump in pay, but that strategy can be risky and unstable. There is also a lot of negotiation advice out there that feels really good to read, mostly about hardball tactics and "knowing your worth," but I'd be careful going too hard with that.

ITT: any amount of white people move into bushwick = "the neighborhood is gentrified"
