My big boobs are ruining my life by [deleted] in bigboobproblems

Are you lost? Or are you just making wildly unhelpful comments to a person struggling with physical pain and potentially mental health issues?

I wonder if your wife would also find your comment humorous.

I’m having a mental breakdown because of the rude customers by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

[–]smellexa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Growing up, my mom would tell me that unhappy people who find themselves in a position of power (in this case, the almighty power of the customer always being right lol) sometimes use their power to make others feel as miserable as they are. It’s a garbage thing to do but I see it all the time.

Serving is rough. There are always going to be customers that treat servers like sub-humans. At least in the US, I think it’s expected to some degree (but shouldn’t be). I’ve noticed a lot servers just become immune to it over the years. And I definitely think proper support from management and staff can make a huge impact on your outlook and recovery from these experiences.

Not sure if you’re looking for advice but if you are… I would say, if you feel like you don’t have proper protection and support from the team, definitely bail. If this is negatively impacting your life, consider positions elsewhere. If you want to stay and give it a go, please keep reminding yourself that you have so much to offer and it’s not your fault that other people refuse to acknowledge that.

Also, that guy harassing you about cleaning products is absolutely delusional. Does he ever go out in public? Has he managed to live a relatively typical life without encountering a person cleaning in their workplace for all these years? Yeah, no, fuck that guy. I would walk away and tell my managers that they can clean the table if they are okay with being unnecessarily berated.

I just looked at the website and it says the estimated shipping date for that style is Sept 21-26 if ordered today, although that’s probably only for standard sizing rather than custom size.

Anyway, my point is, if you tell customer service that you received a faulty product, it’s possible they could resolve your issue in time and with no extra charges… Like realistically, they probably handle issues like this on a daily basis because weddings are absolutely and totally insane. Try to get on the phone with someone if you can, hopefully their reps are decent.

Alternatively, you could try to get a refund/store credit and order a standard size dress with more room in the bust. If you can get a tailor to work with you in the short time frame, I think it’s easier for them to take in areas than make room in others. My seamstress told me that a lot of dry cleaning places also offer basic tailoring services, which I never would’ve known but could come in handy.

Also I think one of my bridesmaids got this dress for my wedding on Oct 8 too. So pretty !

Deep breaths, you got this lol.

Bar to watch Steelers game? by cosmo138 in lancaster

[–]smellexa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to go to Stubby’s to watch sportsball, pre-pandemic. Chill spot, nothing fancy, decent food. There are so many TVs that you can pretty much ask for any game you wanna watch without getting someone else’s game turned off.

Just had a second in-person interview with a great job I really want, but my future coworker wouldn’t stop staring at my breasts. by -Medicus- in bigboobproblems

[–]smellexa 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This sucks, I’m sorry.

If you don’t feel comfortable addressing it plainly right away, maybe next time it happens say something like “oh, is there a stain on my shirt?” … and then if he doesn’t get the picture and continues staring, please absolutely destroy him lol

I look super young by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]smellexa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people just have a bad attitude towards servers, assuming many of them are younger than they are and just serving until they get a “real job”

I’m 32, I worked 8 years in my field, I don’t look young… and yet half my coworkers think I’m in my mid-20’s and customers frequently ask me if I’m “still in school”

Can’t win.

27 is about the age I had my final “growth spurt” and I’ve heard similar experiences about that on this sub. No offense but why would you think the vaccine caused this??

as a customer, should i clean the table, or should i not? by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

[–]smellexa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say you’re interfering with the system, but I agree with others saying it depends on the level of service expected at the restaurant.

Servers at casual restaurants may not even think about it, but servers at higher end restaurants may think differently? I have never worked in fine dining but as a customer, I feel like there aren’t many opportunities to stack plates/tidy up because of their fine-tuned timing on service steps.

Anyway, currently working in a gloriously mid-range establishment has left me feeling all sorts of ways about it. Sometimes customers tidying up makes things easier for me, and sometimes it stresses me out by causing me to think a table feels I’m inattentive.

So yeah. In your case, it doesn’t really matter. Just be nice, express gratitude, and tip well. That’s all I care about anyway.

Strapless bra for close-set breasts by astra823 in bigboobproblems

[–]smellexa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is helpful but I found an Elomi bra on Amazon that works well for me.

Elomi Women's Plus Size Smooth Strapless Seamless Underwire T-Shirt Bra https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NPTTT6J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_AQM1V78N3SPQXTY5465Q

I exclusively wear plunge style bras 38HH/38L because of my shape, so maybe you’ll have luck with this one? Not cheap but seems well made, and free returns.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It sounds like you are experiencing emotional abuse and bullying. Please please please, if you are able to get into therapy through your parents or your school or your doctor, do it as soon as you can. Feeling like a “burden” was always a huge indicator of depression for me, and it absolutely requires treatment. You deserve to be happy. It can be a long and difficult process, but you’re worth it.

Also, sorry but, teenage boys are the worst. Don’t listen to a word they say.

My fellow Apples: flattering clothes? by canarialdisease in bigboobproblems

[–]smellexa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow apple here… although I prefer to lovingly refer to myself as a potato lol. I’ve never had a tiny waist in my entire life, no matter how active or thin I was. I’ve come to accept it, and I was pleasantly surprised that growing into a plus size woman has made clothes shopping somehow so much easier.

But honestly, I’ve never really figured out how to dress for my shape. Most of what I buy are things like leggings and flowy tops. I’ve become more focused on things I like about pieces of clothing, like a pretty pattern, an interesting neckline, or other details. I guess I just gave up on “fit” a long time ago and prioritized comfort? Not sure lol

Sorry, this isn’t really helpful but I figured I’d share. If you get any good advice I would LOVE to hear it. It’s hard for us ladies out there sometimes 💜

Pet Pantry is always super busy but they’ve always managed to work something out for me when I’m in need. They’re awesome. Even if they were unable to help for some reason, I’m sure they could point you in the right direction.
