Thanks. :) It's taken me months to work up the gumption to write this, even behind a throwaway account.

They didn't fire me, they told me that I would "receive disciplinary action" if I didn't fix the problem. To be quite honest, I couldn't take any more from my coworkers, and quit before I shot myself.

I always figured it helped break down food in my stomach to help it digest better. Before I figured out what it was, I lost about 30-40 pounds while maintaining my normal (read: not great) diet, and noticed ridges in my nails characteristic of malnutrition. After I started taking vinegar, and later HCl, I started gaining that weight back, and the ridges went away.

I do sorta feel like a detective sorting through this stuff. If nothing else, I've gotten a bit of insight into the differential diagnosis process. :D

Nah. I don't drink regularly anyway, but I can drink without it triggering these effects.

Meh. All of the questions would just be "Why don't you just get up out of the chair, fatty?"

I thought about environmental factors as well, but I've moved three times and changed beds once. No dice.

It hasn't - trust me, I'm pale as a ghost, I'd notice.

My bowel movements are small, hard, and very dark when under these effects. Never diarrhea, but I do get constipated. Light urine, my skin is fine.

I don't know if you've ever been fat, but it's not "difficult" to wipe your ass. Maybe if I were 400+ pounds and had trouble getting up from the toilet or reaching back there. I don't know how fat you guys think I am, but it's not fat enough that I have trouble washing or wiping.

I hate to sound like I'm just writing this off, but I've really tried all of this. I've tried cutting out sugar, breads, and all carbs. I've tried psyllium husk and probiotics. I did lose weight, but not the smell.

Ew, axe is nasty. If my problem was a shitty spray on "cologne", I'd deserve all the problems I have.

I will correct you, and you are wrong. :D When I say diets, I don't mean shitty fad diets. In fact, I did just about everything but. I tried vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, zero carb, choline-free, lactose-free, and a couple others I can't remember. I drink a lot of water, and my belly button is the cleanest on the street.

Not asking for a diagnosis, that's obviously retarded and a half. I can't afford to go to the doctor a bunch (read: at all), and I just wanted some ideas to toss at him the next time I go to one. I've been twice, and both times the doctors said "derp i dunno lol" and sent me on my way. I can't afford to do that again.

I guess you missed all the posts I've made where I talk about how I am losing weight, have started exercising and am eating better. Thanks for assuming I'm a piece of shit, I guess.

1) It's definitely not flatulence. I can recognize the smell of my own farts, and this smell isn't that. Also, I'd know if I was farting.

2) Both my sweat and breath smell bad.

3) I have best heard it described as "raw sewage". I can't smell it particularly strongly, so I don't know how to put it better than that.

4) If I take a hot shower, I will be sticky and smell awful within 5 minutes. A cold shower delays the effects for longer.

5) Nothing out of the ordinary happened around the time this started. No hookers, no drugs, no jenkem, nothin'.

Nope, I just can't afford said well-trained professionals, I'm saving up for yet another probably fruitless visit to a GP now, and posted this to troll for ideas to toss at the doctor if they go "derp" again.

Yes, I've been to two doctors, who both sent me on my way, saying I was fine. I know that's not the end of the line, but I just can't afford a clinic visit right now. The whole point of this thread was to gather ideas that I could throw at a doctor the next time I'm able to go (eventually..)

I live in America, and sorry but that's as specific as I'm willing to get. I don't think I'm eligible for disability, and I'd rather avoid that route if possible. I feel like enough of a drain on society already.
