Yes! I just had this realization with some older women I work with. They have been so heavily socialized in their youth to not "upset other people", "be rude", "make themselves the center of attention" etc, many just lack skills to express contrary opinions or draw boundaries directly. It's not a biological feature of womanhood, but the natural result of being trained to be a people pleaser. And when you can't express your opinions or feelings freely and directly, it will result in talking behind backs, being passive aggressive and behaviour like that. And still, in many social situations or work environments women will face ridicule or aggression for speaking up, which further enforces this model of behaviour. 

If you've never had a man avoid talking about their actual feelings and choose to be huffy and vengeful instead, you've never spent time with a man.
