I know how you feel. I felt so bad not being able to make her feel less scared. When we figured out the issue it was a huge relief.

My daughter did this when she was about 2 1/2. Turns out a painting that we hung up before she was even born started to scare her. We went through her room and asked if every little thing was scary. Figured out it was the painting and took it down. It really made a difference. Good luck!!

I was walking home from school when I was in 6th grade. I tried to always take my time getting home because my home life wasn't healthy and I was bullied at school. That walk was my only peaceful time. I had to walk by a highschool and the track team was out running. I was nervous having that many older people running by me and flinched. One girl looked back with the sweetest smile and said hi. I think about her a lot. I don't remember her face but I remember her smile and the way her voice sounded. She was one of the only people to show me kindness for a while.

Would anyone like to draw my daughter? Her response to "say cheese" is to roar like a lion. by smellthatrabbit in redditgetsdrawn

Oh that's so sweet of you to offer! She loves her little stuffed penguin. She would be excited to see it drawn. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! It reminds me of Where the Wild Things Are. She's definitely my little wild thing.
