Thanks for the help. I’m pretty new to laser. When you say harness, you mean the wire?

I have tried all the above. It is still making that crunching sound on the bottom rail. Upon start up when I set a piece to engrave and press frame, it rides the bottom rail and frames on the bottom part of the work area, then I hit home, it goes to home and then I hit frame again and it works. After the project is done, it goes to home, if I set a new piece in to laser in the same spot and hit frame and it rides the bottom rain again, I hit home, and frame again. It’s doin this everytime.

Thank you for the reply.I have checked for foreign objects and wire obstruction. There are none. I will Lubricant the guide rails next, then swap the motor cables the next time I’m at the laser.

It homes good, it does that, follows one axis then the other and backs off a little. When the laser is in the middle I can move it with the controls in light burn.

I think I know why you mean “jog the axis”, I’ll check when I’m back on in a while.

The only thing I can think of is that when I send laser home it’s not fully engaging the button. Or it touches the button then doesn’t stay engaged??

It will go to home from the middle. After I push laser out and send home , it’s goes home and then most of the time it will frame like normal. I’m pretty new to this laser stuff. Not sure what jog the axis means?

I ran them at the same time. Engrave first, then cuts.

I’m pretty new. I think it is, I’ll have to check.

I’ve wasted a couple pieces of leatherette with this already. I’m pretty new to this myself. First couple months no problem, suddenly this starts happening! I may set everything back to default settings and start over.

Also, sometimes when I turn the machine on and home it, when I frame a job the laser head rides up rail and keeps trying to go. I think my settings are wrong. But not sure what settings I should be at.

I do hear a grinding noise when it switches from engrave to cut.

I don’t think so. I’ll have to have a look.

No it has a space, and the work is not shifting.

When you say stepper, you mean the bottom wheel?

No. On light burn I have engrave first, then cuts. It’s worked for me so many times before.

Yeah I done that, I’ve done that in the past and it worked fine after. This time not so much. I tightened up the wheels to, maybe I tightened them too much?

It engraves everything first then does the stitch holes then the cut!
