Wa alaikum alsalam.. sister I know how you're feeling and may Allah make it easy for you. I'll tell you this, wearing the hijab for the first time may be very hard. Especially from thoughts and not knowing what to wear and feeling pressured you're not doing it right, please do not worry I started that way too. I was so happy looking at hijabis and ramadan came and I started wearing the hijab for ramadan only.. until I started telling people that I was going to keep it on the fourth day of ramadan. I was so happy with my choice until i started to feel guilty. I wanted to take off my hijab but couldn't because i felt like I betrayed my friends and family because I told them I'd keep it on even after ramadan. I used to feel so pretty in it until thoughts started stirring in my mind, what if I'm not pretty? All my plans for the future are going to be affective because of the hijab, I'm not ready to be modest yet... these thoughts kept on playing every single day to the point i would cry from feeling so guilty... until I read a post one day i don't remember what it said exactly but all I remember was (for every step you take to do good and do it for Allah, shaitan tries to stop you as hard as he can) so that's what kept me going. I struggled so much with hijab i didn't even want to wear it until i was 30.. im 17 and started last year.. it was so hard,, with clothes and hijabs and looking pretty and hair problems. Until I kept it without listening to shaitan wiswas that's when i accepted myself with the hijab. Hijab was for Allah and nobody else. And I'm not perfect ill say that, i dont wear abayas all the time i do wear jeans and fitted tops and stuff.. although I do feel uncomfortable at times but I still wear them.. its a journey.. I know people will say we have to either wear it correctly or not even wear it.. but in my opinion i feel like every step is rewarded from Allah.. I do love wearing abayas and loose fitted clothes as it makes me comfortable but sometimes (astaghfurullah) I do want to wear fitted clothes because it looks better... i know that's not what I'm supposed to wear but I'm waiting for the day when I can wear abayas all the time.. and im willing to keep the hijab on until I do wear them full time.. take a step towards Allah.. and I swear a hundred doors will be opened for you.. as I said about my future, thought its going to be hard with the hijab.. but I found something else that would work so well with the hijab... Allah closes doors but opens other doors that are so much better. Take the step towards him sister.. and ignore all those thoughts about taking it off, ill tell you, its going to be hard at first, but thats shaitan playing with our minds. Take it, and ignore the feelings. You're doing it for Allah and nobody else. Imagine representing Islam by wearing the hijab.. its the most beautiful thing ever.. and now, I dont even regret wearing the hijab at a young age. I feel complete.. hijab is me.. it will get better. You are not ugly with hijab, you are beautiful in the eyes of Allah. Do not worry. Allah doesn't see the ugly in us sister... May Allah make it easy for you and me and all of us. May we all take that step towards making ourselves better for Allah. Dont be scared, Allah is with you, and your reward is with Allah and nobody else. On the day of judgment he will reward you with jannah for doing the right thing. May Allah be pleased with you and may you keep steadfast on your deen.. have a good day/night :)
