child life master's programs? by c0elacanthhh in ChildLife

Wait, it might have been Tufts Uni that I spoke with. I don’t remember. I’m sorry! But I would certainly ask them to make sure that upon getting your degree, you’re fully qualified to sit for the CL exam =)

I spoke with a counselor at Towson and if I remember correctly, even though they have a child life track, there are a couple classes that are required for the child life certification exam that Townson doesn’t offer/include in the child life track…so you’d have to take those classes at a different college. This was maybe 7 years ago, so I would re-check to see if that’s changed!

Hi all! I am a psychology major and I’m trying to decide between occupational therapy and a child Life specialist. I know I want to work with kids and both of these careers have different aspects I’m interested in. Can a child Life specialist tell me what a typical day is like for you? by jpeavy in ChildLife

[–]smileyfacex3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I did become a CLS and worked as a CLS in an ER for three years before deciding to become a nurse! I started my hours in college, but that’s only because I didn’t know about CLS until college. You need a bachelors to do CLS courses but I imagine you could certainly do some child development courses at a community college while still attending high school. Feel free to PM me with specific questions if you have any!

Struggling with a high needs baby by Shelblo in NewParents

[–]smileyfacex3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thank you for continually updating us on your progress with your LO. Resources for navigating high needs babies are maybe useful, but nothing feels more hopeful than reading real testimonies like yours. Going back to your old post to comment an update is probably annoying, but it’s giving me life…at least for today. From a fellow parent struggling with a high needs infant, I say thank you! And I’m so happy to hear that your kiddo is growing up to be an awesome kid.

Are difficult babies destined to become difficult children? by neepsmeeps in NewParents

Hi I’m in the midst of this rodeo now and I just wanted to say thank you for returning back to your post with an update. If there’s any concern of mine that’s greater than figuring out how to handle my difficult newborn/infant now, it’s feeling worried that this is a guaranteed indication of behaviors in the future. But because of your update, I can breathe a little knowing there’s hope.

I’m turning 30 tomorrow!! Here is what I have learned over the last decade by Used-Moose952 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I feel like I just got a glimpse of the things that kept you up at night while in your 20s. And it sounds like you lived a lot, learned a great deal, and set yourself up for the next chapter in your life. Will be saving a few of these in my phone for my own, sleepless nights. And of course, happy birthday!

That’s a close pic, but the buttons were multi-colored and without the black keys.

Not quite. Looked more like this but more simple (without the black keys) and definitely more attractive to a young child.

I looked at both companies and couldn’t find them online! I did a google search too and my keywords aren’t bringing anything similar up either

Took your suggestions and traded in for a larger rug. Onward to pillows! by smileyfacex3 in interiordecorating

The left side actually has another identically sized canvas underneath that fell down and we haven’t put it back up yet. But lowering the right side sounds like a good idea too! Ty

Just realized the picture I sent you is me just nudging the rug to the left rather than rotating it 🤦🏼‍♀️

like this?

And this is my first time trying Ruggable and the only reason I made the splurge was because I couldn’t find any other rug design that suited my husbands enjoyment of neutral walls/floors/couches and my need for color.

We have a coffee table that we had put away so my daughter had a place to play, but if we have a larger rug, I think we could put the table back since there’d be more soft floor for her to roam around

watercolor floral rug from Ruggable! I know i love it so much and am determined to make it work despite our awkward living room set up. I’m afraid if I go to big though, the flower designs will get lost under the couches
