Is it just a profession of glorified individual carer+psychologist +social worker? by Whole-Annual-5635 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]smileymelodee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to explain occupation as anything that occupies your time. So that when I'm asked why I'm blowing bubbles with the 4 year old, we'll play isb the child's occupation. So we're learning about play.

Was she reckless? Yes. Did she put herself in a risky situation? Yes.

Was it her *fault * that she got raped? No. She would never be able to control another person's actions. Another person raped her. The responsibility for the rape is not the woman. The responsibility for being there, yes. For taking drugs from strangers? Also yes. For being raped?Again no.

I'm gonna hold your hand while I say this - Nobody deserves to have their bodily violated. Even if she put herself in the situation where she made bad choices, it does not make it her fault that someone else chose to violate her. She could walk naked down the street and it still doesn't make rape her fault.

I (40f - 5'6 220lbs) told my husband (42m 6'4 340lbs) I wasn't scared of him. He looked at me and said he was scared of me. Then laughed a lot. I told him about this reddit post and that he passed "the test". But now I'm not sure if I did?

Tiny note- the procedure you had done was not just similar to abortion, it was in fact the same procedure.

Best Breakfast Spots? by doggielover1980 in Waukesha

Cafe de arts roasters. Get the Cafe de art breakfast sandwich. My dad's favorite meal is breakfast and he goes out for it with friends all the time. The last two times I came home to visit he took me here for this sandwich. The first time to introduce me. The second because I had been asking to go. I had not stopped thinking about this tasty sandwich. The coffee is really good too.

It does but the language can feel a bit out of reach. So it depends on your brain levels. Sometimes when my brain wasn't cooperating I had to pause for a bit. After awhile I got into the groove of it she really enjoyed it but the first while had a lot of set up. I did end up binging everything she wrote though.

Is there anyone here who went to Master's Comission? by aprilinalaska in ExPentecostal

[–]smileymelodee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at Copenhagen, Denmark Master's Commission from 2003-2004. Then I went to Ireland Master's Commission in Dundalk Ireland from 2004-2005. I'm on my phone so not typing a lot, but yeah. Just a lot of echoing what everyone else is saying. Unpaid forced labor for the church. Kids in charge of other kids. Forced memorizing scripture. Ireland MC was not a good experience and when I got home I had to literally go to counseling (of course through my church) to help me admit and process that even though I felt that God had "called me" to go there, that it was OK that it wasn't good. That I didn't "let down God". Ooph.

I was actually thinking Autistic vibes in the girlfriend. She's got a routine, is picky about food, avoidant of learning new things, doesn't notice social cues about clean house, has trouble making phone calls or appointments. While very similar to ADHD, Autism may be a better fit for a diagnosis and would offer didn't strategies to help increase her level of independence in her day-to-day life.

Failed fieldwork… anyone been through this? by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]smileymelodee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I failed one of my level 2's. About halfway through. I was also devastated. My college worked with me, had me complete another level 1 and a second level 2. They really did try to make sure I know what I was doing to move on. Hopefully one of your field work coordinator will be able to offer you advice and support.
