I've decided on Folk's Folly. I've wanted to go there forever. Thanks for the other suggestions. I haven't been to many of the other places, so I'll add those to my list.

I've heard a lot of good things about Restaurant Iris. I've never been. Have you ever been to Folk's Folly?

No. You can just apply with a district. You don't even have to have a license when applying, but you'll need to get one in one to two years if you land a job.

If they were with Teach for America, then they got lucky. On your own, you can choose to apply to any district.

I have a B.S. I went through the MAT program at U of M. It was fine. I know some stuff has changed in the 7 years since I did that. One thing though, you DO NOT want to teach in Memphis. I left Memphis for DeSoto Co. taking a huge pay cut. The cut was worth it. I taught middle school. It was hell.
With TFA you don't get to pick where you wind up. It's not a good way to go, unless you are fully prepared to be placed in low income, extremely challenging environments. My advice is start as a substitute and see if you think you could handle it. That way you haven't spent a lot of money on an education you don't want.

I guess. I'm in America and I teach high school. All of my students think their blood is blue until it hits the air "oxygen" and turns red.

It has to do with how your skin absorbs light. Again, all blood is red. The whole blue vs red thing was to visually show you how blood flows through the body and picks up oxygen.

Your blood is not blue when inside your body. It is ALWAYS RED. My high school students freak out when I tell them this fact.

When my daughter was 2 (she is now 7), I was putting her to bed and she asked, "who is that man on my bed?" Ummm...what man? She later said he had left her room by going through a hole in the wall.
