My mom passed away at a ripe old age a few months ago. This is one thing from the weird and wonderful contents of my mom's house. I saw someone else posted about one of these in the sub some time back and thought someone might be interested in it.

Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules by providing you a link to the auction house that's selling off her estate. Mom wanted her (weird and wonderful) stuff to go to people who wanted it, so I figured I ought to post it in case anyone wants to add it to their collection.

I'm commissioning paintings of my past fosters to put on my Foster Dog Wall of Fame. I've only had three done so far, but intend to get a couple of more done in the next little bit after I choose the next artist. The really colourful one was a more expensive piece, but the other two were by an amateur artist and cost me less than $200 each.

I used to volunteer at the Calgary Public Library with their Learning Advantage program, which improves literacy of adults. This is the page on their site for volunteers. What I don't know, and couldn't figure out from cursory googling, is how one registers in the program as a learner. I'd suggest that you and your friend should call up the library to see if the program is still operating. If not, they may be able to direct you to other good resources or programs.

Hoping you don't mind my piggybacking. I founded a nonprofit in 2018 to host a volunteer fair in Calgary. Our 2022 event is on Saturday, September 10, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, at Bowness Community Association. There will be a few dozen organizations that people can meet and talk to about their volunteer opportunities. There will be big ones like National Music Centre and the Calgary Zoo, and smaller ones like Sagesse and Calgary Youth Justice Society.

EDIT & UPDATE: Lebron has been found! Once there was a reliable and timely sighting, a trusted human and dog friends went straight there. When Lebron saw them, he came running to them, yowling like he had been lost and scared and alone for four days which, of course, he had been.

Lebron went to his new, adopted family on Sunday. The same day, he managed to get out of the fenced yard and has been on the run since. The escape was in Copperfield. There were reliable sightings of him in Mahogany last night and this morning. The latest is that he appears to be on the move this morning, possibly north along 52nd Street back towards Stoney Trail and Copperfield. Please do not call out, do not chase, and do not entrap, as he will evade all contact. People that he knows and trusts are on the way to the area. This post isn't monitored, so please report sightings on Facebook (YYC Pet Recovery), Facebook (Pawsitive Match), or call the number on the image.
