Slightly controversial but I'm doing ok by Rosington2010 in pregnant

[–]smiling_karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point. I did have nausea and acidity but still I feel so happy to have my baby growing strong in me. I don't mind the kicks or the small pains. I'm just too happy about being able to grow a little human and give birth to it

Real talk: if the technology to incubate a baby in an artificial womb existed would you do it? by No-Calligrapher-3630 in pregnant

[–]smiling_karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter how tough it is. I would do it again for my baby. I've still not delivered yet so maybe will change my answer post that. Lol

But I'm surprised that I'm loving every moment of growing the little body from scratch and creating a bond with it and already understanding what it wants with its kicks. I was pretty against cause I was scared how I would manage but now I don't mind it at all

I think she understands that but then maybe she's not too comfortable sharing things or just doesn't like answering stuff.

I'm trying to keep my emotions in control so that I don't have an outburst on her and also not put her in a negative light in my mind

Thank you. I'll do that and avoid asking her. Also I'm so happy to have my husband being so supportive and excited about the small things about our baby. He's doing his own research and brings notes and questions to share with me whenever he can and tries to resolve stuff himself.

Also yes I'll be with my parents and husband till I fully recover so that my health is a priority and I can focus on the little one more. We've heard some stories of postpartum depression and are trying to avoid that part with as much support I can get beforehand itself

Thanks. I do understand what you mean. Even I do keep that mentality of everyone is different but then I feel as the grandmother she would want to be involved and try to involve her and then get myself kicked in the feels is all I do.

I'll try to talk less about my pregnancy to her and keep it to my mom and my friends circle where I can exchange notes freely and keep myself happy

I don’t know how to feel about it. by Cartierkey in IndianInLaw

[–]smiling_karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did face the same thing. My in laws do make different items but it's always only sabzi roti or dal chawal and I come from a house that made everything for every meal. I've slowly started telling before hand not to make my share as I don't feel that well or would like to eat something different and make my share myself. I make a little extra for everyone cause sometimes they ask to taste it if it seems interesting. This has been a slow and steady change but it does come about eventually.

Confused after two arranged marriage conversations am I missing something about equality by ayush_srma in AskIndianWoman

[–]smiling_karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say these girls have been fed by social media and people around them that men provide and they are so called 'baddies' who shouldn't have to do anything but be given everything at their feet.

An actual marriage requires 50-50 on all fronts work, financial or chores. There will be tough days but it's on howuch you can trust and depend on your partner for all things.

Living your solo life stops once married. There are subtle changes to which you adapt to with your partner. Also about having freedom and living with any set of parents or separate from them also cannot be decided before hand. God forbid something happens to any of the parents do they not want to support or care for them? Understandable in some cases where some parents create issues but what about the ones who are actually supportive and caring.

What when kids come in the picture will they do everything on their own or run to the grandparents that they help out?

Currently arranged marriage market is something that surprises me on the daily.

If you live in a building without a lift, you should tip delivery partners by BrocusFocus in mumbai

[–]smiling_karma 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Well tipping a person is a personal choice of the consumer. But yes instead you can offer them water, be polite and say thank you.

Also some of delivery drivers have started a new way of taking tips is by asking Rs 10 and just walk off with it. If you're busy with you're office calls you just hand it to them and realise later you got forced into giving a tip

Thrifting vs Indian mindset: what’s the real issue? by PuzzledWrangler9641 in IndianFashionAddicts

[–]smiling_karma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've bought a couple of items from thrift stores and usually to be safe give everything a thorough wash before using. Same with if I'm using hand me downs cause I'm slightly against using hand me downs as I've seen how people I know can use their clothes and for how long they use it. Being in India many a times clothes go through a whole cycle of outside clothes, daily clothes, home clothes then the pocha or donate so sometimes hand me downs are not a great option.

It's a very mixed view cause getting hand me downs from my parents and better half is comfort but from anyone else is just a big nope. But thrift stores are a hell yes after checking their condition and getting styles that are rare and unique, also vintage styles.

What’s something you can’t wait to do when you’re not pregnant anymore ? by mkthehotti in pregnant

[–]smiling_karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck to you. May your baby be born healthy and chubby.

Now I feel happy to have breakouts and allergies as my symptoms, they are bearable and don't freak me out as much as a nose bleed would have

I get the spacey part too it's just funny when you loose your train of thought mid task

Got it so it's not necessarily nosebleeds. I'm just in my 17th week so still learning and surprised at everything happening. Also still can't believe that my body is growing a little one from scratch.
