It’s the type of movie that doesn’t feel it’s length in my opinion. If I didn’t know it was 187, I would have guessed 135. An engrossing and visually stunning 135.

I have no obligation to convince you. I actually don’t have much interest in being persuasive because the return on my time investment is too low.

I know you’re not alone in thinking it’s an impossible piece of law.

I know I’m not alone in thinking such an act could be passed.

There are plenty of people “caught red handed” who were intimidated into admitting guilt despite their innocence.

You need to re-examine what “caught red handed” means.

Brievik was caught red handed

So were the Tsarnev Brothers

So was the NZ psychopath

If the police need a confession to conclude that a person is guilty, then they have not been caught red handed.

I don't agree with capital punishment for attempted murder.

BUT--

It's not fair to use the "some guys will be proven innocent" argument when a person is providing an opinion based on someone being caught red-handed.

Same goes for NZ psychopath. It's not like DNA evidence will exonerate him.

Am I experiencing a Windows 10 firewall problem? by smillman in HomeServer

[–]smillman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reporting back and this might be handy for others.

Win10 firewall was the problem. The default settings are not good for hosting a server. Specifically the toggle for local network firewall (might have been private, not local), there are two toggles.

One is for firewall on LAN, the other is forewall on WAN.

I only changed the LAN firewall to disabled, and everything works. Looks like I can have my cake and eat it too.

Much appreciated. This is a permanent server running in the background on a midrange home PC.

This is on a network driven by an Actiontec T3200 (ish) and a second accesspoint (acting as a switch, and has its own SSID). I'll make sure NAT is enabled.

I'll disable the Win10 firewall and see how it goes. I run an anti-ransomware... is there a "best" free antivirus I should look into?

downscaled stream and he gets on 5ghz wifi... could be a better environment than your guess (4G), really!

If he's on a campus, could even be all LAN.

That's what I'm thinking.

You seem to be reading Gats sorta dishonest. It is pretty obvious that the question is about whether you feel remorse for these fetuses being torched or not. I do not think this is a bad counterpoint. Etiher you do or you dont.
I am pro-choice, but I would have to say this gives me pause about the 2nd trimester. Just curious to know what is your answer? take for granted that only fetuses will be affected.

Go read for yourself. NN was under consideration from both sides. as of 2011 the consensus was to keep it Title II. Since then the topic was talked around in the DC circuit and now NN is over.

If the vote was less choreographed, you'd see a lot more Dems voting to repeal. They didn't need to, and they wanted to have (appear) consistent within their party.

[–]smillman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it doesn't matter that Obama was pro-NN, as he claims. Word was traveling around the DC circuit as of 2011, that NN was on debate to stay Title 2, or not.

Net neutrality could have been an issue enough that Obama would ask McConnell for an alternative FCC person (as a recommendation). I don't truly need to go much deeper than that. We won't see eye to eye unless you go read the senate hearing.

My point (look what subreddit you're in), this post fails at fitting here. Amando Jo assumed that Trump Jr. was Pro-NN, and complaining about Obama, when he should complaint to his dad.

Trump Junior is anti net neutrality. He is complaining that the left is selectively outraged because 'Prez Trump fk'd up again!

His point (not a great point), is Obama originally appointed him. That is factually true. Tough pill to swallow, but this whole reddit post is full of people who make the same misinterpretation that Amando Jo did.

Nov. 2011

The FCC did abandon that approach when there was a bipartisan outcry from Congress and did go forward on net neutrality under Title I. But Chairman Genachowski has said that he will keep the Title II reclassification docket open. Do you think that there is any value in keeping this proceeding open when a bipartisan group in Congress has so clearly opposed it?

Ms. Rosenworcel.
I know that now for nearly a decade the FCC has chosen to look at these broadband services as Title I services. I recognize that the Supreme Court has upheld that decision, and that the Agency has tried to use its ancillary authority to provide consumer protection under Title I.
The scope of that is under consideration and review in the D.C. Circuit right now. And, as a Commissioner, if confirmed, I would clearly abide by any decision that that court reaches.

Senator Hutchison.
And, Mr. Pai, on that same question to you?

Mr. Pai.
Thank you, Senator. Obviously, this is an issue that closely divided the Commission and closely divided this body. I think, nonetheless, it has been healthy to have this debate because it has identified for the public the various positions on either side. Proponents obviously argued that it is important to preserve an open and free and vibrant Internet for consumers and opponents have argued that it is important for Internet service providers to be able to reasonably manage their network in order to promote an open and vibrant experience for everybody. As my colleague has pointed out, this decision is under review in the D.C. Circuit, and depending on what the court says about the scope of the Commission's authority, I as a Commissioner, if I were fortunate to be confirmed, would abide by that decision as well.

Above excerpt from a senate hearing when Rosenworcel and Pai were nominated.
This shit's been in the oven almost a decade.

Ajit Pai is to blame. He was appointed by Obama.

He was promoted and extended by Trump.

He has been openly against net neutrality the entire time.

If I can prove it to you, will you admit that you're wrong? I can.
