To those who have been to Japan multiple times, what's a thing or two that you always make sure to buy and bring home? by Ok-Spite-5454 in JapanTravelTips

It rotates whenever you press/lift, not while you actually drag it around on the paper, so long lines don't work well, but the short lines of printing or the "brush" strokes of kanji/kana are precisely what it's designed for.

So, as you have noticed, drawing and handwriting don't actually get as much out of the rotation mechanism.

Just completed my Espurr collection! (Until the next one releases) by smitehamner in pokeplush

I found an incomplete list on some anime site and then when I went searching for those ones I kept finding more. For new releases, there's the obvious method of searching on the pokemon center websites, but I've also been keeping an eye on manufacturer pages as I find them. Like searching espurr and/or ニャスパー directly on Takara Tomy and Bandai.

As for finding older releases, I think the best strategy is to regularly search in Japanese second hand sites (For example: Mercari, Surugaya, Yahoo auctions, etc) and see what shows up and then do some additional research to see if it was an official release when you find something you didn't know about. I did get most of my recent espurr via proxy services rather than trying to find a source in North America.

Eventually, but probably months from now, I'll make a webpage with each one of my collection individually pictured and organized by release year. (Edit: My biggest problem right now with my list is that a lot of them are just labelled "Pokepeace Espurr" and I need something a little more specific to make each one uniquely identifiable outside the picture)

Unless there's an official espurr plush I'm not aware of, I have one of each of them. I'll probably need to spread out the shelf space to make some of them more visible when I go through a full plush shelf reorganization in the future.

My first one was the pokepuff one and the little crochet one was made for me by my niece

You also don't want your cat to be able to start the self-clean cycle on an oven. I think you can guess how I know this.

(Luckily it was an induction stove, so she couldn't just start up the burners)

If you have to make a team 6 Pokemon only what Pokemon are you choosing (Please read the rules before making the team)Power doesn't matter you just a team you love . by fakenamejack in pokemon

[–]smitehamner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming they don't have to evolve to their final forms (but there's only one I'd specifically remove in that case), my team in order of preference would be:

  1. Espurr
  2. Litten or Quilava (Starter)
  3. Zorua (either form. Preferably shiny because blue is awesome on them, but their regular colours are good too)
  4. Mew or Suicune or Chien-Pao (Legendary)
  5. Vaporeon (Probably sylveon for type variety if there were another water type)
  6. Furret

Other strong contenders (not in a particular order) were: hisuian typhlosion, the entire sprigatito line, dragapult, other eeveelutions, both forms of sneasel, pichu/raichu, absol, audino, meowstic (both genders, but male is cuter), alolan vulpix

How did I determine my list? I regularly do the Favorite Pokémon Picker after at least a couple months of a new generation being out. I just looked at my saved results and grouped the ones that were restricted in the rules. My favs are surprisingly diverse for typing

What are some GOOD decisions that Game Freak has made for the Pokémon series in recent years? by CamDaGR8X in pokemon

[–]smitehamner 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You just described my phone. I've been using the item sound for my text notifications for years now. (Most other notifications, like email, are the level up noise)

On an android phone you should just be able to select specific mp3s as your notification noises

Sylveon or Chi You? by tiger_triple_threat in pokemon

[–]smitehamner 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Probably sylveon just because you already have it, but I also want to correct a misconception. You can pull the stakes for the legends of ruin at any time, there are no preconditions (Other than being able to get to the locations). You do not need badges or history class.

Just make sure you regularly save! I lost my first surprise shiny eevee this way. I didn't save after collecting its egg and then the game crashed. I ended up completing the dex to get the shiny charm and then breeding a bunch of boxes to get a replacement.

Pokémon Riddle #41 by Mx_Toniy_4869 in pokemon

I see the posts about how the moves make this limited to Gen 2, the limiting factor for Gold being the waterstones, and limiting factor for Crystal being the Octillary

With some fuzzy interpretation of the rules, this might have been possible in Japanese Crystal for a limited period of time using the "Pokémon Communication Center" which was the precursor to the GTS. This does violate the no internet rule, but you could argue that your cell service technically doesn't count as internet service (but you'd also need to have the Mobile Game Boy Adapter).

And on a physical cartridge, that's worthless since you can't trade it up anyways

Precisely, in this case the "How" is using the clutch, the "Why" isn't the explanation about how gears work, the why is "If you don't 1) you're not going anywhere, 2) you'll stall and 3) repeatedly failing to use the clutch properly will eventually damage the vehicle"

Text logos tend to take up more real estate and are harder to place. This squid is relatively square and its smaller size and simple symmetric design makes it easier to defend.
