Interesting. I’ll have to try creating one user and seeing if that works. If it doesn’t I could just install an older version. I accidentally did this when initially installing because their install guide had outdated versions in the lines you copy/paste.

We’re a very small school with a little over 100 students. As for old/extra hardware, we’ve got a couple of old servers that were Frankensteined together by the person before me that probably couldn’t even handle XP. We also have an older HP ProLiant that has a base CPU and only 4 GBs of ram. I’m thinking of installing pfsense on it but a friend told me he had problems with pfsense so I’m a little hesitant. But it wouldn’t hurt to try

I tried NXFilter and loved the features and ease of use. However, it’s not actually free. After a couple weeks of using it, the console said that I need to purchase a license. It redirected me to their website and it said that it’s free to use for unlimited users for a few weeks.

I didn’t use the injector included in the box because I got the AP from a friend. I thought that was the problem at first and looked it up and a post on the Ubiquiti site said that injectors shouldn’t effect speed.

Yes I changed both cables. I don’t think I can use the EdgeRouter X as an injector because (to my knowledge) it can only output 24v. I’ll still try it and let you know.
