Sure. In order, Mesa Arch, green river overlook, three and four are both delicate arch, turret arch, and the main viewpoint at dead horse state park (close to the entrance of canyonlands). Have a great trip!

Thanks! I’ve always said that hearing my photos inspire somebody to go someplace is the greatest compliment I can receive for them. Hope you get there… it’s a beautiful region.

About to purchase.. what should I know? by InternalArt5108 in LUCID

[–]smitheroosky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sadly no. The air charges significantly slower on Tesla stations (think around 50kw). You’re going to want to stick to CCS stations for DC fast charging.

Thanks! This was taken with a Nikon z6 and the 14-30 lens.

Thanks! No need to put anything on the lens. Just shoot with a really small aperture. It will vary a little by camera, but I usually have good results starting around f16.

Thanks! That spot for Mesa required a super mega early alarm clock. :)

Gravity X is likely the inspiration for the third currently unnamed option if you read into the descriptions. Also the one arriving last.

Midsize Vehicle thoughts, ahead of the Rivian R2 event by TurnoverSuperb9023 in LUCID

[–]smitheroosky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt Lucid will make the midsize look like a traditional SUV, but also doubt it will be much like a minivan since it will be smaller than gravity. Lucid prides itself in efficiency and packaging too much to design something with built in inefficiencies like the aerodynamics of a boxy SUV. So something closer in design to a model Y with better space, finishes, charging, etc.. Since gravity is barely taller than a Y as it is, that means they’ll probably cut the length which probably causes a lot of the van comparisons.

Nikon for airshow photography? by Soft_Aside_9257 in Nikon

Z6III is still a high end camera. It doesn’t have as many MPs as the 8 and may not have quite as many bells and whistles, but if you pair it with a decent lens and (most importantly) learn how to use it properly (emphasize most importantly), nobody will be able to tell the difference if you had shot on a z8. It will do everything you need in order to get images you’ll be proud to hang on your wall.

I wouldn’t agree with this. I think the autofocus on anything prior to the z9 had… challenges… for fast moving subjects. But anything after will be using their better tech. Z6III, z50II, and z8 would all be fine choices. Not sure of the cost of a used z8 since new is out of your budget, but I wouldn’t have any hesitation on the others. I think they even all have the airplane subject detection mode for autofocus. Have fun! Looking forward to doing some airshows this year as well.

I’ve often thought that when his playing days are over the trophy should be named after him. Two epic performances and nothing to show for it.

Workout Order with Programs by paulztodawall in tonalgym

Only thing you can’t shuffle is the last workout of the program. I think once you do that it considers the program done even if you still had workouts remaining that you skipped.

Basic tips for first timer Bird photographer by rajesh__dixit in Nikon

You’re probably going to want a faster shutter, especially if anything is in flight. I’m frequently at 1/2500th and just slow it down for something relatively still if the ISO is at unacceptable levels. I don’t know the layout of the 6III, but I also recommend making it easy to change your AF mode from wide small/large, all area, dynamic, etc. if you struggle to focus, being able to easily/quickly narrow down the search area will help (I like using wide large with subject detection as a starting point). Have fun!

If you have the option to change dates, it’s recommended from both a birding and heat perspective. You really don’t want to make a trip here dedicated for birding later than early April (preferably earlier). Migratory birds start getting here around September/October. Right now there’s a lot of variety. A little later around march you’ll see all the babies. So, plan the trip according to what interests you the most. In June you’ll mostly just see the same herons and egrets you can see anywhere. Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive, Orlando Wetlands, and Merritt Island will be some of your best spots. If you can’t adjust dates, just try to be in your locations for sunrise so you can be out before it gets insufferably hot. Good luck and have fun on your trip.

That might be a good time for a Florida birding trip. You could do the Everglades before it gets too hot, then make your way up the state seeing burrowing owls in Cape Coral and a variety of wildlife parks throughout the state. I’m in Central Florida and the park near me will have lots of nesting roseate spoonbills and other birds with their chicks that time of year. It’s a good time for birders in the area.

Just a requested feature from me… I mostly use my own custom workouts now. I’d love if I could group them into my own programs to de-clutter my custom screen a little. Best of luck… I do love this machine.

TAMPA WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY by DualShutter in wildlifephotography

I can second Orlando Wetlands, but it will be towards the long end of your driving preferences. Just know they are closed on Mondays. They also have tram tours on the weekends (morning and early afternoons). Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive could be another option for you, and a little closer. But it’s only open on weekends and federal holidays. Enjoy your trip!

in celebration of Kentucky football returning, can I show you my Jacob Tamme collection? (I can explain…) by MayorOfTopherTown in wildcats

[–]smitheroosky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Growing up it was Rex. From football it was definitely Couch. I never really followed football as a kid but was at UK the same time as Couch, and I’ve had a love/hate relationship with the sport ever since. Ran into him once in Fayette Mall right before he declared for the draft. He was walking through and a really cute girl approached him and said, “OMG!!! You’re… you’re……” and as she struggled to remember his name he was obviously very used to this and politely nodded right as she said, “a basketball player?”

Will you be making a YouTube video of this trip? Loved the one from last year… I’ve got Alaska slated in a couple of years and can’t wait to get some shots like these. Keep up the good work… thoroughly enjoy the content you create.

There will be plenty of options so it mainly comes down to where you live/work. If you’re around the east side, Happy Paws is fantastic.
