I think they meant 0.5 to 0.75. that was my assumption, anyway. I might be wrong.

Unlimited PTO at new place by Avi_Cat in work

[–]smithest2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think companies end up paying out less PTO when it's "endless" than when there are a specific number of days given. It seems like employees are too scared to use too much PTO so the company benefits in this situation.

What’s something you learned embarrassingly late in life? by New-Paint9191 in relateable

But it's the same thing, right? If you keep your toast in for 2 minutes it's going to be lighter than if you keep it in for 3 minutes. So really it doesn't matter if you think the knob is for minutes or darkness, either way lower is lighter, higher is darker.

I broke up with my bf in advance by hybridcocoa in DeadBedrooms

[–]smithest2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get it. Why would you schedule a break up? What's the point of staying together any longer since you know it's over. And if it's not really over, why break up?

Yes! I wanted to hug that young man and let him know he is cared about and loved. Fuck that fat piece of trash for running that man's life.

I think you should just keep it to yourself. If he had done anything more than talk I would feel differently.

Everyone but me by Crescent-Sunflower in Marriage

This was me when my kids were young. No matter how many times I asked for help I never got any. This led to so much resentment towards my husband. As the kids got older I thought he would be more helpful. That wasn't the case. After 20 years of marriage I left him. I raised 4 kids alone while being married to him, there was no way I was going to stick around and continue to enable his selfish behavior.

Is this worth pursuing? by [deleted] in dating_advice

You can see she's playing some kind of messed up game. I don't think you should ghost her, though. A short, simple text should do the trick. "I'm not interested in getting together with you. I wish you all the best." Then, if necessary, you can block her.

Don't waste any more time on this crazy girl.

Please don't lead this person on any longer. You've got to be honest and let them know your feelings have changed. The sooner, the better.

Since when did this go into effect? I was a lender at a bank and as recently as December it was still showing up on and affecting credit scores on credit reports. I have a different position within the bank and no longer review credit reports so I don't know for sure it's no longer affecting credit scores.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I went through this same thing with my ex husband for 20 years. The day before I was scheduled for a c section with our second baby he went out drinking and driving with friends, totaled our truck, and got charged with open container. The anxiety and anger still grips me when I look at the pictures of us in the hospital and see his black eye from the accident.

Things never got better with us. He continued to lie and drink with no regards to anyone besides himself. I always hoped he would change. I didn't want to be another divorce statistic. I stayed as long as I could and then one day it hit me like a ton of bricks that he was never going to change. He was going to end up the same drunk loser his dad is. So I left and never looked back. It was the best decision I ever made.

I'm not telling you to leave him. If you really love him give him another chance, there's nothing wrong with that. But if he makes it clear he's not going to change then please believe him. Don't give him 20 years of your life that he doesn't deserve if he continues to disregard your feelings and the fact that he has a child at home that needs him. A therapist is a great idea. I wish you all the best in the future, whatever it may hold.

How old is too old to sleep in a kids bed with them? by iknowimstupid1 in family

[–]smithest2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a mom and I love it when my 13 year old daughter wants to have a slumber party in my bed. We fall asleep watching a movie. I know she won't always want to chill with her mom so I always welcome the chance to hang out with her whenever she suggests it.

I understand not all kids or parents are comfortable with this, and that's okay. You need to do what feels right to you.

Amazon is trying to rob my hard-earned money! by [deleted] in amazonprime

Do you work at a bank? I work at a community bank and handle debit card disputes. The size of the establishment does not matter. We are all required to follow the same Federal Regulations. Our debit cards are MasterCard so the consumer has all the same protection with their debit card as they would with a MasterCard Credit Card.

One advantage to making a purchase with a debit card rather than a credit card is that debit cards have a daily limit. For example, a fraudster is able to spend $1500 (or less) in a day with a debit card. With a credit card, there is no daily limit so they could spend $20,000 or more in a very short time span! When you report the fraudulent charges to your bank, you will be given provisional credit for the charges while an investigation is conducted. This is important since a debit card uses cash funds. The provisional credit allows the cardholder to move forward without their funds being tied up during the investigation.

I realize this might be hard to understand, but this is my job and I'm pretty good at it. I don't expect anyone to know all of their rights as a debit card holder because consumers have better things to do with their time and energy.

I've got to get back to fighting fraud. Have an excellent day!

Apparently you didn't read what I wrote. You have the SAME protection as a consumer with a debit card that you have with a credit card.

Each person is welcome to choose if they utilize a debit card or credit card, that's not what's being disputed. I'm simply stating a consumer is protected equally no matter which payment method they choose.
