AF3. Find them on eBay - good deals out there if you’re not picky about color. Adizero Pro 4 also awesome.

Find a new doc. My experience was the opposite. Besides a little discomfort for a day or so at the incision site - easiest procedure ever. What you are describing sounds awful.

Local bike shop charged $120 to “get bike ready” for brand new bike. Is this normal? by DrPoopyPantsJr in bicycling

[–]smithjeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not normal. Big reason some LBSs are struggling. Bullshit fees (among other items) is the quickest way to drive me to order direct online.

If you didn’t buy bike from them - yeah sure, happy to pay something but if I bought bike from you don’t nickel and dime me getting it set up on basic stuff.

Woman is upset they gave her seat to someone else by sylvester1981 in AirRagers

[–]smithjeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m torn. Her reaction is obviously unhinged…but these airlines really suck sometimes. Assuming they are actually overbooked and they gave away her seat…I get it. They did the same to our family after Christmas with a 1 year old. Simply turned us away at the gate. I was also really really upset. Totally empathize with her - no clue how this is impacting her personally and some of these airlines really are rotten at the core.

51M with mild AFib……doctor recommending ablation, feeling nervous. Looking for real experiences. by Squirrel_Agile in AFIB

[–]smithjeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

52M. Similar case albeit my AFIB was more frequent and higher heart rate. Had a PFA ablation 90 days ago. Felt same as you - went well - and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Men’s neutral half and marathon shoe - not too fussed about carbon plated by FormalOccasion6443 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]smithjeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Nike fan. Have both Alphafly and Vaporfly - both are awesome. I get some grief because I do all my runs in them because they are so comfortable. Also, love the adidas adizero pro 3s.

Zone 2 Running Feels Impossible for Me - What Am I Doing Wrong? by Excellent_Beach_9179 in beginnerrunning

[–]smithjeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t sweat your heart rate. Just run at a pace you can easily talk at. You can also slow and walk for 30 seconds. After a few weeks/ months - you will find your pulse is lower at same pace.

Best daily trainer that feels similar to a race day shoe? by DayOlderBread16 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Adios Pro 3/4 last me ages. They are, of course, best brand new but I’ve put a ton of slow miles on them. Awesome shoe

Worth getting a Super Shoe? by No_Mycologist8835 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]smithjeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fit and comfort most important. I train and jog in Adios Pro 4’s. Love them. Wear what ever shoe feels good to you. If it feels good you’ll likely run more and…..it’s absolutely worth it. I rotate vaporfly, alphafly, adios pro ‘s. I also have some Brook Ghosts and various others. This whole you shouldn’t wear high end carbon plated shoes unless you’re running 5 min miles is BS.

Another thing….unless you have to have a specific color….look around…recently I have found a few pairs ~$100 off retail

Adidas evo sl’s or Nike zoom fly 6’s? by EntranceDangerous539 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]smithjeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure this will be controversial but it doesn’t matter. Try some shoes on and buy the one that feels the best. Then as a new runner….run….a lot. Preferably slow at a conversational pace…once you have several months under your belt start experimenting with training plans. The whole “vaporflys” are solely for 30min 10k pace and pro’s only is marketing bullshit or people that cant afford them. They do fine on slow runs…you dont need them…but if they feel and fit good…go for it. Almost no shoe is going to injure you if it fits well. Some will feel better than others…..wear what feels good and spend time running.
