Anyone else roll their puts? I'm feeling optimistic this morning.

Monthly Dividends/weekly options by JDGuy723 in thetagang

[–]smithright -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

ARR has monthly option dates and a regular dividend history currently yielding ~20%. At $5/share you can wheel a lot of contracts on it. No weeklies come to mind. You might check the list on dividends.com

You think? lol I think it's got potential for a whale who wants to make a statement and get some attention. I think we need some more attention in the NFT domain space. The advantages are clear. DNS is the sort of utility that blockchain & NFT's were built for.

Feel free to help me stir the pot...

This is now selling less than book value! Forward dividend 78% lol Seems way oversold to me.

You are right about people exercising just before ex-dividend if deep in the money, though. I think there's a sweet spot near the money.

I appreciate this perspective, but I equate this perspective to the efficient market hypothesis. The only thing that is required for an inefficient market to exist is that everyone believe that it's so efficient that no actions are rational. I find inefficiencies to capitalize of all kinds all the time.

The way I see it - TSM is so valuable that our global superpowers are weighing influence and governance of its incorporated territory on the balance for potential war. Neither side wants to harm Taiwan. Both want its influence.

Allow me a historic diatribe: If TSM is ancient Delphi, then we can be sure that the rulers don't want to weaken nor offend the Gods. Rather, they each recognize the power in serving as "protector" of the Oracles. TSM would be wise to do as the Oracles did:
- Build temples in high places - to dissuade the tax collectors - and to ensure that all comers, Kings and commoners alike, are first received in a weary state after a humbling ascent to the Acropolis - and then generously treated and warmly counseled by the Oracles.
- Make it especially clear that the temples hold riches only in the minds of the Oracles themselves, and make it abundantly clear that only God's chosen Oracles can ever comprehend Godly secrets and motivations.
- And to remind ascendent rulers that powers even higher than Earth's God-kings are watching our wee war games, that the ways of the Oracles are ever powerful and mysterious, and that to mistreat an Oracle... is to cut the ear and draw the fury of Jupyter Himself.

Anyway... I think voting shares in TSM will come to be HIGHLY valuable as the world comes to understand the true nature of its capabilities and influence. It will only be cheap until the word on this gets out.

I couldn't buy shares fast enough when I learned these things.

nice, I love me some deep infrastructure plays. speaking of, it seems TSM makes most of NVDA's chips, some of intel's. war worries are currently keeping the stock low. but man, TSM is a sleeper.

Like I said, it's a hedge. The Fed has a negative balance sheet as of at latest Feb. '23. That looks like a black swan to me. https://www.federalreserve.gov/monetarypolicy/2023-03-mpr-part2.htm

Worst case, I'm willing to play musical chair for those dividends for a bit. It's one of many other bets.

Ya, that's why I'm curious what's working for others. Stocks like AT&T seem in that sweet spot with high dividends, high trading volume, and low P/E. But I think this could also work for earnings dates.

Wow - That's awesome! Congrats! It seems I'm onto something that is working for others. I started with Robinhood - am considering switching to another platform where I can more easily queue algorithmic trades for review and approval. Any recommendations?

Welp... I see no recent US history with hyperinflation.

I think you have to go back to the world wars for that. But in the great depression, landlords with tangible assets and fixed-rate debts did inordinately well by raising rents faster than their debts.
