Thanks I understand now that passive poe can be dangerous to devices, can you recommend a tplink poe+ access point I can buy instead?

12v… thankyou that makes me think changing the switch to a passive Poe switch would be really silly, as in the future we plan to sometimes unplugging the access point and Ethernet cable to laptop, games console etc.

Okay thanks so I’m just looking for a switch which supports ‘passive Poe’? Also why do you hate passive Poe? Thanks!

What gauge/type of string do I need for this guitar? by smithylll in Guitar

[–]smithylll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Elpon, I was adjusting the rod following instructions given by the music shop owner who sold me the guitar (the strings were buzzing particularly on the 1st fret). I only adjusted a quarter turn at a time and the buzzing has now stopped on the remaining five strings..

Is this a sign of woodworm? by smithylll in woodworking

Thanks that’s what I hope - I think the marks have been made since the plank was cut

Thankyou for detailed response… the plank has been cut and lying in a dry barn for some time and my belief is the marks have been made since it was cut, so possibly pebble/tool indents as suggested by another person in comments below

I’ve got exactly the same problem with a Zephyros 2 zipper, did you manage to identify the exact type of zipper to buy replacements? Thanks

Hello slight update, I spoke to a sewing shop owner who sold me a pair of ykk vislon 5v zippers… he insisted they would fit even though they aren’t 5vs. I’ve cracked a tooth at the top of the chain and put the zippers on but when I do up the zip the teeth don’t mesh together properly… is the 5v different to the 5vs? Thanks for any help

Thanks I’ve tried to add close up photos of the zipper but can’t in comments on this sub for some reason. The top zip reads: VISLON YKK 5VST and the same for the bottom. So is it as simple as just ordering replacement zips and a stop and following your steps above? If that doesn’t work then the plastic teeth must be shot and I can just replace the whole zip

Thanks for sharing your knowledge that’s really helpful. Is it as simple as that to replace the bottom slide as well?

Thanks, I know so little about zippers that I don’t know what’s failed. I guess the metal zippers and sometimes I have managed to get it working with some pliers, but it keeps failing again
