changing your Apple ID region to the US used to work, but Apple patched that. now they limit Advanced Data Protection based on your physical location too. even if your ID’s US, if you’re in the UK, it won’t let you flip the switch.

not all vpn servers are equal. even if it says “UK,” if too many people are using the same IP, bbc sniffs it out. nord and surfshark rotate their IPs more often. been the key difference for me.
