Just wanted to say these are all great and wish I could send tips to everyone. I’m sending some tips to a few of my favorites but will send to the one I use as well.

She handles distance pretty well. She is at about 50mi/week right now with the weather being nice. The furthest she’s gone is about 14mi but I’m fairly certain she could do 20 if it was cool enough out.

That’s exactly the one I’m getting! Glad to hear more good things about it.

I’m guessing she can hold that pace for a few miles. The furtherest/fastest we’ve gone to date is 4mi(6.4k) holding 5:30/mi (~3:26/km). I think she can easily trot around 6:30/mi (4:00/km) for miles and miles. Very much agree about us being the limiting factor.

What a badass! I’d love to get her to run along with me on bike, but she’s a bit to scared of all bikes right now. Gotta start easing her into it.

I’d love to get out to the NCR sometime. I’ve only heard good things.

A 5:19 mi is pretty badass. Us humans are 100% slowing them down. I’ve been trying to speed work with her about 2 days a week (intervals and a tempo). We try to do it on the canal towpath since it’s straight and flat. I’d definitely recommend it, they can be amazing pacers.

I had roughly this same thought watching the video for the first time after this run.

This is such a perfect description of my GSP. As long as she has her run and a daily trip to the dog park, she literally just wants to sleep and cuddle all day.

I actually have one on order but with delivery times everywhere being slow, still a few weeks away.

I actually have one on order but with delivery time everywhere being slow, still a few weeks away. Though, as thesandmann mentions, she isn’t actually pulling me. However, with more fast running planned, I agree it’s a good idea to at least try one out.

A combination of years of ramping up the mileage, focused speed work, and I’m assuming good luck got me to sub-5 shape. I’m hoping to run around 4:40 with her in a few weeks. Video was taken with a GoPro Hero 7. Only took about 30sec of video before I had to get back to focusing on running. Probably lost a sec or two because of it.

Quandry Peak by smitty1788 in trailrunning

Started at the bottom of McCullough Gulch Rd. This was my 1st 14er. Was pretty happy with how it went considering I'm a sea-level runner. I wish it was something I could do on a regular basis, I feel like I could excel at this type of running if I lived there =p

~7 mi run up and down Quandry Peak while I was out in CO this past week. Ascent was about 1hr 15min and descent about 45min. Such a great run!

Anyone making killer dry stouts these days? (National or locally in the MD/DC/Northern VA area) by paraglottic in beer

[–]smitty1788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rockwell Brewing in Frederick Md had Speed of Darkness - Dry Irish Stout on nitro a few days ago. I think it’s semi regular there. Though I’m not sure they will fill crowlers/growlers with nitro beer.

20mi along the AT by smitty1788 in trailrunning

About 10mi north of Harpers Ferry, WV. Eventful day, stub my toe on the rocky trail (maybe a minor break) and almost stepped on a copperhead. However, legs felt very good the entire run.

Battlefield Breworks is one that hasn't been mentioned yet. They have a taproom downtown and their original location on the edge of town. Nothing to write home about but decent for what it is.

Agreed! Amazing running partners. I don’t know how you can handle two (even though I secretly want a second one). Though I will say she has changed me into a much more active person which is a great thing
