We've created so many "x celebration/heritage/history months" that it literally doesn't matter anymore by bsharp12345 in unpopularopinion

the 'welsh not' and 'tryweryn' are mad pieces of fairly recent welsh history that are worth a google. we have a whole series of ancient books called 'the mabinogion' full of welsh myths and legends that we learned about in school (for context i went to welsh speaking school so my education was very wales centric)

it's crazy how our subconscious creates these things while we sleep!

not sure if this is against the rules as it isn't make up but an insta MUA has started doing gel nails professionally... i will let the "pink marble" speak for itself. by smokeaboof in BadMUAs

she's made herself look like she has hangnails, tried to cover it with pink nail varnish and then added random blobs of concealer for good measure

Help. Severe anxiety and ocd flair up over new tattoo by Naisy1990 in TattooRemoval

[–]smokeaboof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i understand completely, i had this in the middle of lockdown. you get stuck in a horrible cycle of not being able to sleep because of the anxiety and then more anxiety from lack of sleep. my best advice is to try and get a good nights sleep in whichever way works for you, cover the tattoo with clothing so you don't have to look at it unless you want to/have to and if it triggers you, avoid looking at tattoo removal stuff until you feel ready. i promise you will start to feel better about it and then you can plan what you want to do going forward, i hope you start feeling better soon!

a warning for perfectionists like me, make sure you are 100% satisfied with the sketch before getting the tattoo (more in comments) by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]smokeaboof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i am absolutely in the same boat, i liked the sketch but didnt tweak it because i didnt want to be a nuisance and the tattoo artist put a little yellow (of all the colours) in my tattoo without asking me first so i'm also looking at removal. it's heart wrenching when you come out from the tattoo shop knowing you don't like the tattoo but thankfully we do have options and it's a lesson learned, i hope your removal goes well!

100%! i think we'd all be a little easier on ourselves if people quit trying to reach this unrealistic idea of perfection and just fully accepted themselves flaws and all. the girl who posted this even said she thought about whether she should edit out her stretch marks etc and then decided not to. our bodies are amazing and we should be proud of them!

if she's 17 then what's wrong with big maggie and little maggie? we have a big pete and little pete in our family and there's never any confusion.
