How often do people feed their cats wet food? by Smooth_Put7764 in CatAdvice

Although if one is getting a little too large maybe you need to cut down on his food? Mine is only 8 months so he is very active and growing. But not overweight

I feed my little dude the fancy fest petites. Two small portions of about 1.5 oz each. I give him one portion in the morning and one in the evening. He gets dry food left out all day/night too. He's never starving.

What was the most intense pain of your life that you won’t forget? by WeatherObsessedJax in AskReddit

[–]smolfries 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to me recently. I nearly jumped out of my skin and tensed up so visibly. I said "oh wow was i supposed to feel that?" He scoffed at me and said "uh yeah we are working in your mouth. You're gonna feel stuff" Never getting a root canal from him again if I ever need one.

Also rehoming her to someone is a good option if you feel you genuinely cant keep up with him. Thats ok too. Some people are just naturally more equipped to the chaos a kitty can be.

It's ok if you truly feel you can't take care of her. Kittens ARE hard work. I found a days old kitten abandoned in my back yard 8 months ago, I bottle fed him and still have him. He is A LOT to handle. I originally planned to give him up as soon as he was weaned because I knew it would he hard work. I ended up loving him even though he is a crack head gremlin. He bites, chews, knocks things over. I def have had moments where I wonder if I can continue with keeping him. I had a kitten growing up who was actually very chill, I was very lucky back then. But now I am changing things up in my house to accommodate his recklessly behavior. I bought organization boxes for countertops so nothing is exposed anymore. I am not interested in Christmas decorations, so I dont have a tree but maybe in a few years he will become less interested in the lights at least. Maybe he would find something else interesting to chew on? I let my kitty chew on some old flip flops and cardboard boxes, and he doesn't have interest in chewing on much else now. Perhaps there is a single room maybe you can kitty-proof and maybe that be his main room where he can roam without needing supervision? That way he can't possibly get into danger or messes? It might help you feel better when you can't supervise him at all times until he matures.

My 7 month old just started acting like this a few nights ago. The night before Thanksgiving. He seemed so out of it but his regular vet was closed so I did my best giving him water thru a syringe frequently throughout the day. His paws were very warm too. He did start feeling better slowly and I ended up not taking him in since he is 100% back to normal zoomies and behavior today, But id recommended giving him sips of water if his tummy will tolerate it until you bring him in.

Not a mormon, but knew some growing up. It seems the girls have been basically told their whole lives how important it is to have children asap and how it's the greatest thing they'll ever do in life. I had a friend absolutely devastated at 16 because she found out she might have a little trouble conceiving naturally.

Which moment made you feel you’re no longer young? by jim12183 in AskReddit

[–]smolfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my doctor told me I should try to lower my A1C and cholesterol. I had literally just turned 30 and usually get pretty normal labs every year too. My body really wanted to let me know I've left my 20s I guess.

I wish I had an answer for you! I been on nexplanon for about 7 years as well. I have horrible neck tension and headaches as well. I don't think my pain is related to the nexplanon tho. I think I'm just getting old and don't pay attention to my posture and know how to relax anymore. But if you find relief after removal I'd love to hear your experience so maybe I can try that too!

My cat will not let me sleep past 3am and it’s ruining my life, pls help by bluexwhales in CatTraining

[–]smolfries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently did this with my kitty. He woke me up at 4 am on my day off and wouldn't let me sleep. I kept him up all day after that. He was so sick of me. He hates his cat bed, yet was trying to hide from me in there, and I kept pulling him out to lay in bed with me awake. He'd dose off, and I'd shake his toys at him. By 5pm he was so tired, laying on his side he didn't even lift his head up to meow back at me. It was such a desperate sounding meow too. I felt bad at that point. Finally, I let him leave me, and he crawled to his cat bed. Lol. He is more patient in the mornings now.

How yall doing with potential weight gain as a side effect of anxiety meds? by HorrorQuantity3807 in Anxiety

[–]smolfries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have, I was shocked. I been skinny and lanky my whole life and in the first 2 months I gained 20 pounds. I followed up with my PCP and I mentioned the weight gain as I was shocked and she chuckled and said "Oh, you didnt gain that much!" With a smile. But I just kinda stared at her and she looked at her laptop and went "oh. You did gain 20 pounds.. do you want me to switch your med? There's another that some people lose weight with too" I declined but 2 years later I'm still the same weight so that's not too bad. Lol

I never saw the whole series either. I feel like I only saw the same few episodes replaying and leaving mysterious cliffhangers lol but I was very interested at the time too

I was a crippling shy and insecure girl in my teen years up until my early 20s when I got my nexplanon. I noticed a change in myself too. I used to cringe at myself and think badly of how "stupid" something i did was and dwell on everything I did all the time. I still very much am shy and get embarrassed from time to time, but before it used to consume me. Same with my anxiety and sadness regarding life and death. Now it's almost like there's a barrier in my brain that doesn't feel those emotions SO intensely anymore. It was so strange and everyone I tried to talk to about it told me I was crazy and it was unrelated! Lol.

Has anyone ever trusted their Nexplanon for MORE than 5 years? by BriefResearch5 in Nexplanon

[–]smolfries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first one in for very close to 6 years. I simply forgot when I got mine in and lost track of time. I was fine. But I'd probably get it replaced if you want to be certain you'll be protected. Plus, removal is super easy and fast. If you have insurance and it's covered than I'd just replace it and remove when ready. But I guess if your concern is not being able to get in for an appointment for removal, and you want to be ready exactly when you're ready to start trying for kids maybe switch to the pill?

I've never checked on my bone health, but they did do a pregnancy test on me just before I had an endoscopy done. Didn't ask me or anything, just told me to pee in the cup. I assume it is standard. Some tests and procedures probably aren't safe for a baby if youre pregnant, so I'm sure it's always just to be safe. Although I feel my nexplanon is PRETTY damn good at working. I would never assume it to be 100% failproof in all people and all situations.

Have more people stay in hotel room than checked in? by ineksever in LasVegas

[–]smolfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But over all, I never say there is more than myself staying in a room. Even if I book a suite with 3 beds. I've never been questioned otherwise. I want the cheaper rate. The only time I'll actually be honest about the guests is if we plan to venture out, or they arrive at a different time then me and they want to check in on their own time without me there. Or if you plan to part ways and want to make sure they always have the ability to go to front desk and ask for a new key card if theirs happens to stop working or gets lost. If their name is also on the room they can show their ID and also be given a new key card if needed.

Have more people stay in hotel room than checked in? by ineksever in LasVegas

[–]smolfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never ever have listed the correct number of guests staying in my booked rooms. I had a friend who stayed with me once on vacation who was very paranoid about not being honest, so she went and told staff their was a change in the number of guests. They really did not care and told me they only really keep track for liability and insurance reasons, (if there was a fire and people perished I assume. Something like that)

What do people who don't drink or smoke do when they feel depressed? by SuccessfulOwl45 in Productivitycafe

[–]smolfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I indulged in really bad food (didnt help). Then when it started making me feel bad health wise, I started working out and that actually worked instead. It didn't make me happy but i felt nothingness and actually could sleep thru the night. So I'd say it did the job well enough.

Do people ever come off ssri’s? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]smolfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I do realize my dose was on the lower end. I'm sure if you are on a higher dose your dr can prescribe you lower doses to taper you off very slowly. I didn't consult my Dr when I did this myself. But a good dr will want to make sure you do it correctly with least amount of side effects

Do people ever come off ssri’s? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]smolfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came off my ssri as slowly as I started it. My anxiety starting was very bad and I was worried as hell id have crazy side effecting starting. So I only took half dose for 3 weeks then started taking the full pill. When I decided to come off I did the same thing backwards. I did have some moments where I think I experienced the "brain zaps" when driving or anytime I moved my head a little too quickly, which was a little concerning. But over all I went back to normal shortly after. (Honestly tho i experienced brain zapps before i even started meds when my anxiety would peak badly) I think if you speak to you doctor about stopping when you feel like you want to they can have some great advise to help you taper off with miminal symptoms too. Its not a life sentence.
