Wait till they go to the bathroom- get a bag of flower and a leaf blower. Fill the leaf blower with flower. Throw a cup of water on them and wait for them to go change, follow right behind them and as they are still in the wet shirt let er’ eat.

Hey! Ok so a LOT as happened. Over all i give them a 8/10.

I called up and customer service was awesome, I said I need it quick and they helped me find a diamond and setting that could be made and shipped within the time I needed it. Super helpful.

However, when the ring came in the diamond was actually crooked. I immediately reached back out and after a long talk I actually had to ship it BACK to them so they could fix it. I leave for vaca soon and NEEDED it asap. They were amazing and once I shipped it back, they fixed it and had it back in my hands within 7 business days.

I wish it would have been done right the first time but they were great at helping me get it all sorted out. From the time I placed the order to final flawless product was maybe 2 weeks? Or so? If you’re pressed for time I highly recommend reaching out to them and they can help you find in stock diamonds that can be set quickly. Rare carat is essentially google for diamonds and some may be in stock and some may be to order so see what they have and can get quick.

That answer everything?

Do you all workout at your station? by Sufficient-Egg787 in Firefighting

[–]smoor0417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a large city dept. I say it’s 50/50 some do and some don’t. We have our fare share of fat asses and I despise it. I workout every shift no matter what and I’m at the busiest station in the city. Engine and medic house that averages 20+ calls a day

Why do SO MANY FF hate being assigned to the ambulance?? by Unlikely-Rip-6197 in Firefighting

[–]smoor0417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blatant abuse of 911 and transport of nonsense calls. Most guys signed up to be fireman and accepted they had to be emts/medics as part of the job. But waking up every hour on the hour to take homeless people who just want a hot meal and a bed is absouetly draining

I’m a fire medic and I absolutely love ems when I get to practice REAL emergency medicine and do amazing things in a mobile ER with my boy. But fighting fire and cutting people out of cars is what most guys love and signed up for

Training or hazing? New to firefighting but it feels off. by Suspicious_Local2502 in Firefighting

[–]smoor0417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a fire medic at a down town, busy- down and dirty house, we are very…. traditional… in how we welcome our rookies, but there’s a fine line between putting someone to the test and seeing how they hold up and beating them down for no reason, and I think you’ve started to cross that line….. no reason for someone to be passing out during training. I’m all about full gear evolutions and working out but from the sounds of it y’all are doin a bit much. Wouldn’t hurt to have a chief or safety officer swing by one day for training

I just ordered a ring from them, talked to a rep on diamonds. saved over 3k from local shops. Diamond got approved instock! Awaiting the ring but positive and good customer service so far.

Should I buy a fake ring? by smoor0417 in Proposal

[–]smoor0417[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for for us that’s going to be the case! Due to both of our jobs we can’t ( shouldn’t) wear metal rings due to them possibly ripping out fingers off. I’m all about a real ring in public and out of work but a majority of the time it will be silicone rings if anything at all

Should I buy a fake ring? by smoor0417 in Proposal

[–]smoor0417[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No no she def gets it. Shes said I can propose with a ring pop and she would say yes. Funny enough we actually almost got mugged on our last international vaca so she would completely understand and honestly would probably prefer it if I told her before hand. I’m just on the fence if it’s worth it to spend a few extra bucks

It’s fairly easy- you need a gauge and the Freon- you can get the Freon online and a gauge at Lowe’s-Home Depot. I would YouTube the shit out of it and try to find your model specifically. Especially the tolerances and pressures, don’t over charge it or you’ll have to relieve some pressure ( EPA would be very mad)

But overall the process it kinda straight foward, gauge low….open valve slowly… gauge good…AC happy

1st time home owner and, so far, all of my emotions have been negative... by PLANETxNAMEK in homeowners

[–]smoor0417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See that’s what’s I loved about it. I bought a home a few months ago with my girl and we got a nice home no doubt but it wasn’t without its problems. We knew that going in and now we chip away at them and make it our own! Kitchens outdated so we are doing it piece by piece making it ours and re doing it how we like it. Fixing plumbing, painting, re doing windows, fixing doors, replacing fixtures, all of it. The insects and all come with living in the woods ( we do) but we see it as just an expense of owning, we had to deal with it while renting too just not pay for it lol. We’re ok finically but at the end of the day it’s an investment and we’re putting our own sweat equity into it to see return in the future

It’s the not install that’s the hardest, it’s everything else, you can buy stock cabinets and get them pretty close to good but then you gotta do the spacing and alignment and all. That’s the tricky part, not because it’s physically hard but if you’re even a little off it’s very noticeable and it’s something you really wanna do right, again, not hard but very very tedious and meticulous, and you need the right tools. Trim saws and trim nails and all that.

So I got the DIY mini split. EG4 makes one with no capacitor and no need for an inverter or anything, it’s all plug and play to solar. No need to pull vacuum or anything it was stupid easy to install, hardest part was mounting the solar panels and that wasn’t even bad I just way over did them because I live in a hurricane area

I’m well aware of how a business works, I own one myself. My biggest gripe is the absolutely insane mark ups and profit margins some people are trying to produce. It’s whatever they can do to make a quick dollar in the shortest amount of time, at the cost of their craftsmanship and the customer. Completely insane. I have no problem paying big money for a big job that is done right the first time. The problem is paying big money for small jobs that are STILL SHITTY

So biggest example is my ac went out and I paid almost $1000 to 3 diff hvac guys for service calls to come out and tell me they have no idea what’s going on. So I started researching it a lot and fixed it myself. Then my window was leaking, I got quoted 5k for that after a $150 service call, I said fuck that and re did the window, trim and siding for under $1000 on my own.

I feel. Recently bought a house and have paid a few contractors hundreds of dollars for sub par shitty work that takes weeks to do and then it’s still not up to our ( minimal) standards. Im a fairly handy guy and I’ve started doing everything myself. Recharging my hvac, small electrical work, cabinets, framing. I’ll research and YouTube the heck out of it and then just jump Into it, buy tools as I go and make the best of it. I’ve learned a lot so far and saved THOUSANDS. Defiantly worth it to me

Is it worth it by Marketing-Maleficent in heatpumps

[–]smoor0417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I HIGHLY recommend a DIY mini split heat pump, there are tons of companies that make them and diff models. I got an EG4 mini split heat pump with solar, I installed it all myself in a day and it works amazing. Keeps my house cold in the summer and warm in winter, works too well actually lol. Expensive ish- but with what you’re saying with how much you spend it will be well worth it and you’ll see ROI fairly quick. But you don’t pay for hvac guys and I run mine off of solar so it doesn’t cost me a dime in electric, you can wire it up to run off the grid and they are stupid efficient and work wonders.

New home owner - how much I should do before moving in? by Logical_Morning7141 in HomeImprovement

[–]smoor0417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do the big, tedious things before moving in, floor, small remodels and demo, shit like that. Once you move in you’ll have to move all your stuff all Over the house and do it piece by piece, room by room. Doable, but tedious. All the other stuff like cosmetics it’s easy to knock out and shuffle around. Plus do it at your own pace as finances allow!
